I haven't really tried painting with real paints. I have some watercolours and water colour pencils, but I'm not very good with them. A few people have said that I would probably be good painting with acrylics or with oils, but I don't really know where to begin buying supplies and worry about blowing money on it if I'm no good. I've tried drawing on the computer with digital software and a tablet, but I just can't get the hang of it like I did with Art Academy. I like how Art Academy lets you put a grid over your work and over the photo you are drawing from. That helps me more than anything to get my inital sketch right. Once I got that, I'm usually OK. Deep down I feel I should be able to move to other drawing/painting mediums ... but I really don't know how to get into it properly.

This just got me thinking of how awesome Art Academy would be on the Wii U. The 6-inch touchscreen would make drawing much easier. Hopefully it's a built-in app.

I bought Art Academy 2nd Semester thinking it's a update to the DS Art Academy. (=~=) Very sad to find out 1st semester and 2nd semester is just the same thing as Art Academy for DS just broken up into two parts. I could of just re-learned off the DS game instead. Wish you could get refunds in eShop.

Art Academy 2nd Semester has more painting and drawing lessons. I think I learned way more in the 2nd Semester than I did in the first. In that one you'll learn about colour, and light and more about art styles. Plus having both versions on your 3DS will allow you to have 2 drawings going at once, in case you're not quite satisfied with one, but want to start on something different. I think in total I have 5 copies of Art Academy spread out over 3 DSes.

Why is everyone asking for art academy on the 3ds? Colors 3d is coming out...
