Sorry, dude. I know you like them and all, but man I never thought I would actually hate a JRPG before Golden Sun came along.

I've never played Maple Story. Is it really that bad?

I still dont get why people like Zenonia so much...I guess Im just weird like that. I got it, I was very exited/hyped, I played for 5 hours, deleted it, never looked back. I guess the DSi controls might help it, but probably not that much.

@WaltzElf: Most of the time I agree with your stances, especially regarding Gameloft, but I've got to question this. Loved the GBA Golden Suns, looking forward to the new one. What in the world makes Zenonia better than the Golden Sun series?

Oh, nothing. It's a good game, and I understand why other people like Golden Sun. I don't even see how you can compare the two.

But Huklol continues to troll anyone who says anything remotely positive about a digital download game, so I feel the need to play Devil's Advocate.

No my friend, Maple Story isn't horrible. In fact Maple Story has gotten many positive, yea, many rave reviews by IGN.com, GameSpot.com, Game Informer Magazine and even GameStop employees. My only two quibbles with Maple Story is that the leveling gets very HARD, yes even difficult after you past level 40. The only two classes that to my knowledge level rapidly after reaching the forty mark are the "Magician" and "Thief" professions. My second Maple Story quibble is that the Cash Shop can be nothing more than "a raking in money" scheme; for example: in NEXON's Mabinogi one can purchase pets and royale equipment and such and the items won't expire but in Maple Story you have to keep buying mounts, pets, pet food, YES EVEN clothing, and uncountable amounts of Gachapon Tickets over and over again because they all expire. Good grief, even some mounts only LAST 10 measly days. In fact, no other MMORPG published by NEXON has garnered as much money as Maple Story has. In fact many former Warcraft players have abandoned Azeroth for the cute, anime-ish Maple Story.

NEXON's Maple Story is not at all a bad game. Great Scotts, I dare say there will NEVER be another MMORPG as great as Maple Story but I simply cannot stand the Cash Shop madness. It's all a money snatcher. I've spent over 400 dollars in Prepaid Nexon Cards for Maple Story and that's a sin and shame before God. I never dreamed I'd spend so much on an online game but yes, NEXON knows how to milk money from it's Maple Story fans and they are in the millions!

To be quite honest, almost everyone of NEXON's games are worth playing (save for Combat Arms, Vindictus and Dungeon Fighter). If someone passes up a NEXON game, then pity on them. Some of NEXON's greatest games are Dragon Nest, Maple Story, PopTag, Kart Rider, Nexon Star and EverPlanet and I highly suggest you try them all as Dragon Nest is the BEST of the BEST. You can't get any better than EverPlanet and Dragon Nest. Dragon Nest is slated to open in North America next year. In fact Maple Story is such a hit that's garnered it's own manga and anime series in Korea and Japan. Seriously, we can relate as Kingdom Hearts continues to have on-going manga here in the United States and I hope Zenonia gets manga here to!

Nintendo has even been wise to keep an eye on NEXON as NEXON has been sighted by many in the electronics world to be a major threat to traditional console gaming and that is why I give my right hand for something like Zenonia. In fact, I've stopped playing Maple Story and PopTag just so I can re-assure my conscience that she might know that I'm still a loyal console gaming fan of Nintendo. Blast at XBOX and PlayStation. Blast them till the yellow cows come home. Nintendo is and shall always be the king of gaming! Alas, however, for I shall return to NEXON once Dragon Nest comes to the United States next summer; however, I shall play NEXON less and I shall not commit financial sin in spending more than a hundred dollars on NEXON Prepaid Cards.

Oh, BTW NEXON and Nintendo are in talks to bring Maple Story DS to North America and there are rumors that Dragon Nest could come to the Nintendo 3DS and Dungeon Fighter is already in development for the current Nintendo DSi.

Anyway I'm sitting ready for Zenonia and Shantae!

@TokyoRed: I played Maple Story from beta until shortly after it went live, when the newbs and jerks began pouring in. It was fun for a while, but it's just another Korean MMORPG where they make their money off'a you customizing your character. It's no fun after a while, and it lags like hell whenever there's an event happening or in busier areas with people shouting over one another to try and find groups or sell their crap. also, three times i was just leveling my character on my own and a mod entered the room and accused me of using a bot, demanding that i speak to them immediately or else i'd be banned; god forbid i'd chosen that moment to go to the bathroom or something. screw that BS, it's just not worth it.

Maybe, but my friends have it in the ipod, and they say me that Zenonia is a really horrible game.

I loved it Though I wish training was a bit faster and they had more BGM. The one they have is really annoying

well that's a shame they feel that way about it. perhaps the DSiWare port will be better. :3

As a little bit less of a flippant reponse, think about it this way - the people who have played the game have been generally positive about it in this thread. The one person who is being critical of it, is basing his criticism on 'what a friend said,' and rages against digital downloadable games of any time at every opportunity.

Food for thought there.

Fair enough - but for the record I only ever cricised Gameloft games I've actually played myself
