Anybody who played the first Rabi Laby game knows that it's an extremely clever puzzle platformer that makes ingenious use of its simple mechanics to present some very challenging puzzles. Over in Japan it received a sequel shortly after its release, as well as a third episode which came out exclusively for the 3DS earlier this year. I've been pining for the chance to play the sequels ever since I first discovered the brilliance of the first game, and finally the opportunity to play the first sequel is here! I played the first five stages, and it appears to be more of the same puzzle-y brilliance as the original (with the same nonsensical Engrish-y cutscenes, to boot). Each level now includes an optional coin to collect, which apparently can be used to unlock stuff later. Is anybody else playing this?

I bought the first one and got stuck on level 5. I could never beat it, so I deleted he game. If this game has random difficulty spikes no way I could enjoy it.

I've had the first on my wishlist since release, but as this one is cheaper I think I'll grab it instead. Any real reason to take the first one over this?

Probably not, since the sequel is basically a level pack for the original. My impression after playing the first ten levels is that the sequel seems a bit tougher, and that it expects you to be familiar with the mechanics of the first game right away. It apparently has a hint system that you can use if you get stuck, though. (Not that I ever plan on using it.) My advice would be to buy Rabi Laby 2, and if you really like it and want to see more then get the first game.

It looks interesting. For some reason I though the game was called Rabi Lady, instead of Rabi Laby. Might get it in the future and maybe the prequel.

Wow, tough game but enjoyable. Digging the graphics and music. One thing though, has anyone got the platinum badge for clearing a stage? Seems like no matter how many seconds I shave of my time on any stage it always gives me a gold badge. Either way, cool game for 2 bucks!

I just got the platinum star for the first level. Unlike the first time you play that level, when you replay it Rabi will be there, so you can use him to skip the left part of the level and beat it in under three seconds. Though in the first game a lot of the platinum times where ridiculously hard, so I didn't bother trying to get most of them.

Just got the platinum star for the second level too! Looks like you need to beat it in under 5.5 seconds.

Cool, I'll try to ignore getting platinum till I can beat the full game if my mild ocd will allow it :) Must say, the writing is pretty funny too! This is one of the better 2 dollar games on dsiware!

I've beaten the first 25 levels now. For some reason I had more trouble with levels 6-10 than I did with levels 11-25. I think maybe because I was out of the loop for too long and as I've been playing more I've become more aware of the types of tricks the game expects you to pull in order to pass some of the levels. I will say that the game faked me out with complete red herrings on a couple of the levels, where they made it appear as if you had to do something but the real solution required you to do something completely different. That's something I don't remember them doing any of in the first game.

You need to ignore the red key until the end, so that Alice can walk past the red lock on the top floor without opening it. First you have to send Alice to break the lowest block on the right so that she can collect the blue key, but after that you want to use Rabi to get Alice past the disintegrating blocks while leaving as many of them intact as possible, so that Rabi can return to the start of the level and collect the red key when you need it at the end.. The technique you want to use for accomplishing this is to bounce Alice on top of Rabi on the second block from the bottom on the right, then move her to the left as soon as she bounces, and then immediately switch to Rabi and make him jump to the left as well, so that Alice ends up bouncing on him on top of the third block. Then you can have Alice go up and over to the left, so that even after she makes the higher blocks disintegrate, you'll still be able to make Rabi jump from the third block to the middle pillar.

Just beat the game! The difficulty was very uneven towards the end, some of the later puzzles were tough but others were almost insultingly easy. Then again, they pulled the same thing with some of the later levels in the first Rabi Laby (in one of them the dialogue on the bottom screen was something like "Doesn't this level seem too easy? Maybe the designers got lazy").

The puzzles managed to stay fresh throughout the entire game and never really felt like rehashes of puzzles from the first game. In comparison to the first game, RL2 seemed to have more of a focus on platforming (especially with using Alice and her weaker jumping capabilities) while the first game forced you to use Rabi's exploding ability to solve puzzles a lot more often. The one thing that sets Rabi Laby 2 above the first game, though, is the inclusion of Mega Man-styled disappearing block puzzles! They only appeared in a few levels, but they instantly made the game that much awesomer.

I collected the tokens in all 50 levels, but I don't appear to have unlocked anything extra. The trailer touts the inclusion of "unlockable bonus stages", so I guess you have to collect medals to unlock them? Unless I'm missing something...

Yeah I'm on world 5-2 and some of the puzzles were surprisingly easy. So you finished the game, got all the tokens and didn't unlock anything huh? Maybe you have to get platinum on all levels? Just a thought. I personally wouldn't attempt it, to much frustration, lol.

Come to think of it, the game did show an extra cutscene after the credits finished rolling. It's possible that the extra cutscene only plays if you have all of the tokens, but since I had already collected all 50 tokens by the time I finished the game, I can't tell if this is the case or not.

I am sort of attempting to get all of the platinum star times to see if it unlocks anything. I've managed to get around half of them so far but I can already tell that some of them are going to be a huge pain.

Well, I haven't collected all the tokens so far. Will update when I finish the game to see if I get the extra cutscene or not. If you manage to platinum all stages, you sir have the patience of a saint, lol.

The main game has 50 levels, but somebody on GameFAQs says that there are 3 bonus levels which he unlocked after getting platinum in the first 50 levels.
