@Martin: Well, I uploaded three different songs on youtube, the latest being the Mario one, and they all had just the colorful rytmik logo with the song names on the video themselves. But someone thought that the SMB song was just the ripped original song from the game, so they gave me a thumbs down. Then I guess someone(I'm not sure if it was the same person) flagged the video, and then it was taken down, with the reason being that it had 'inappropriate content'. I assumed that it was the same reason as the thumbs down, so I video recorded the song with the same audio(the video you posted above).

Then, the next day, my other 2 songs were taken down, with the same reason again. But I am sure that the songs I arranged sounded really different than the originals, so I have no idea why they would have been flagged.

This is my problem now though: I video recorded the other songs, and tried to do the same with them as the Mario song, but they got rejected. So I tried re-recording the audio, changing the title, and other stuff, but they got rejected immediately either for 'duplication', or after I deleted the others, 'tems of use violation'. So I've kinda given up. Any help though(if possible) would be appreciated!

Btw, I'm completely new to youtube, so I don't know much about it at all.

Yah whats the problem with pre-made clips, I edited some fo them, it is anyways my first song that I made with Rytmik, and you can only critic me because I use pre-made clips, what a shame.

Please read post 84, and don't be so defensive. As I said, I was just not in the best of moods, and I probably would have said anything was horrible.

And if you didn't have another language as your first, I would so critique the above post.

1. you can ignore dislikes, it does not count in any way in the competition.
2. I'm sorry, but we can not do anything with your youtube account or with your videos. It is completely between you and youtube stuff. If they think you violated some rules, there is no way how we could fix it.
3. I don't know if someone in the competition is cheating and there is probably no way how to prove it even if we had some doubt. The video you mentioned has a bit many votes for how long it is in competition, but it has also big number of views, so if the creator has a lot of friends it is nothing unbelievable. And sure it may not relate with the quality of the track, but it is the way it is. Maybe in some next competitions we will change rules and we will pick the winner ourselves, but we cannot change rules during this competition. But don't be sad or something, at least I think you made great job on your SMB song

@zez - if someone truly thought that was an exact copy of the original i'm shocked....it's quite close, but aside from a couple off-notes (just a couple), there are all sorts of subtle differences in dynamics compared to the original.

@Martin - Wow...so yeah I was all set to apologize for being mad/critiquing the honest work of others, but after reading zezh's post and looking into it, it appears there's still a comment from a ghost account--joined 1 day before his contest entry was submitted.... 3 comments--1 on your contest video, the other 2 on the contest entry in question.

The very first comment from TheMeaff, is the one I checked up on...joined August 28th, has done literally nothing but vote for/post on that video that showed up the next day.... The thing that surprises me is that it's really not that bad of a track--no idea why he needs to drum up fake comment-support for his track....but yeah-- I gotta say I'm mighty suspicious of that one. I figured I'd post here instead of publicly making a comment on that user's track--I'd rather he not try any funny business with my submission

Oh well--human nature I suppose.

On a related note--why, if you're having fake accounts vote for your submission, do you post comments with said fake accounts? That just seems like it's asking for trouble...

Here is my entry that was uploaded again. My problem was the recording quality. I just used the first recording I had. When I saw the negative comments, I listened to my DSI and made a few changes. First I got rid of the bass track. It didn't really need it and wasn't in the original. I changed the instrument in the Title potion of the song. I also got better quality by not recording at the max DSI volume. That is something I will remember in the future. Tell me what you think.

@joek - you gotta fix those flute notes....out of tune. It also sounds like you're starting the song a half-step above where it needs to be (slightly different key from the original), but it's kinda hard to tell due to that missed note on the chord. Listen to the original again--solo that second part and listen--I think you'll hear the difference.

I had to do it in another key because of the 2 octave limit. I worked off a composition in the key of F# major. I changed it to EMajor.

@joek - you can switch samples mid-pattern....I did that for quite a few notes that were slightly out of range with my Gyroman mix. Still--fix those flute notes at the beginning--key-change or not, you gotta make em line up with your piano notes key-wise.

Agreed with Swerd, definitely fix the pitch. Not to be rude of anything, but the beginning was definitely cringe-worthy.

But a shout out to Mystic Kirby, your song sounded fantastic.

@joek0 When you change key, the normal and sharp notes change. You can't just transpose every note down the same amount, or it will sound out of tune like it currently does. I still suggest playing with normal and sharp notes until you find something good on the ears when you play it back.
