Hasn't been posted yet, so I'll go ahead and start it. Looks like a fun game. May get it.

Description: Discover a joyful universe where playing is always a pleasure with Pop Island. Colorful and fun, Pop Island is an action-packed capture-the-flag game. Pick a team to join, then run, jump and spin your way around the island in an attempt to collect the priceless flags hidden throughout it. Become a surfing penguin, a flying fish or a waterskiing crocodile as you go all out for victory, unlocking 12 more joyful animals as you rack up points across eight different planets. You might even end up competing as a skateboarding mammoth. Playing alone is plenty of fun, but the madcap action reaches a new level when your friends get involved. By sharing the demo of the game via DS Download Play, up to seven more people with their own Nintendo DSi systems can use a local wireless connection to join you for some head-to-head or cooperative action. With plenty of power-ups, you'll need to concentrate on capturing more than just the rival team's flag to claim victory.

All right, let me just say that I've only played it for about 30 minutes. Buuuut, this seems pretty cool so far. I like the physics, they seem pretty good considering. While the rules are easy to understand, there doesn't seem to be any tutorial, which would really help. Pressing "help" just takes you to the general information screen. For instance, what are your teammate's effect on YOUR score, since every "animal" on your team seems to get a score. Does team score mean anything? The game is very colorful and fun, and the action is fast. Throwing firecrackers seems hard so far. The music seems pretty good, too. I haven't tried multiplayer yet, I will when I unlock some more animals. So far, just with the fact that it has multiplayer, it seems worth the 500 points. One note, though, my fingers are sore after only 30 minutes. Too frenetic!

I must say I love this game xD

Wi-fi support would have been nice, but I like that is has DS Download. The unlock-able characters are nice from what I can tell from playing it too. I would rank this... maybe an 8 out of 10 stars. I am pleasantly surprised of the quality of a $5 game!

Love this game so far. Lives up to what I had hoped it would be. So far it's really fun and already I can tell it's worth the points.

I just can't get this game, because I've been playing Tribes 2 lately, and you know... probably not Capture the Flag is just so awesome in that game. I could never enjoy this game while I'm playing Tribes 2 so much. Although it does look cool.

I have only played this for about 20 minutes so far but from what I've played, this is a very solid game. The graphics are stellar for DSiWare and even DS in general. The sound is equally as good and really seems to fit the mood really well. As far as gameplay goes, essentially you have 2 teams of animals. You are one player on the team. After selecting a specific arena(planet),you are thrown into the action. It's fairly strait-forward, move around with the control pad or touch screen, shoot firecrackers with the B button and jump with the A button. Using the map you can locate flags around the area and collect them. After the flag has been aquired, take it back to your team's base. You must be careful though because if member of the opposing team hits you with a firecracker, you will drop the flag and they can then aquire it. You can do this too of course and it makes for a rather frantic game. So that's sort of the jist of how Pop Island goes. The controls are all around reaponsive and it is very rewarding when you blow some one up and take their flag. I have yet to play the multiplayer so I cannot comment on that. I should get a chance to try that in the next few days. Overall this is a great looking game with simple but fun gameplay. Great game for 500 points. 8.5/10

@Lockd I don't think normal happy things are wierd [Except for Feenie, but I don't know if he is classified as normal]
I know what I'm downloading for Christmas also. Some of my friends always complain about me not having any download play games, so this will be great.

Just let it happen.

@BlueCat get every Electroplankton game that's out. That is the best use of points possible. [well, maybe not vorvoice, but I use it more than DSi sound]

Just let it happen.

@lockd LOL I agree. its... interesting. But fun xD

@Blue_Cat If you get a 2000 Point Card I would suggest... Pop Island, Dragon Quest Wars, Asphalt Racing, and Electroplankton Beatnes. Just my suggestions.

Too bad this game doesn't have online multiplayer

I am getting a 2000 point card. I want to save 500 points for when reflect Missile comes out. I also wanted to get a few Electroplankton games (Hanenbow, Luminarrow, Beatness), but I might only get one if I get Pop Island, and I also want Art Academy.
I'm might getting Art Academy later, though (with my next batch of points), for some other game/s. I only have 2 Art Style games, and I'm interrested in Digidrive. Also, the Airace games that are coming out before Christmas seem fun, but I need more information (reviews) before I decide if I might get one.

So many games! In the end, I might just end up buying more points for myself!

It's okay. The oddball concept and decent execution (a wise choice to aim for 60 fps -- without it, this download wouldn't be half as nice as it is). I wouldn't recommend it over this week's other downloads though.

I disagree but that's mostly because I bought a used copy from Gamestop for half the price all of the parts would cost on DSiWare.

So what are everyone's high-scores?

Hey if anyone is having trouble with the aiming...

If you use the touch screen to control your person a dot appears on the top screen, which will help most of the time . You can use the D-Pad to shoot and jump, but i wouldn't hold it down, because I think it confuses the game... Also my High score is 182 with the shark
