Im new to this site, petit computer and programming. I was hoping you guys know a good place to learn the basics of BASIC. My ultimate goal with petit computer is to make a zelda link to the past clone.

So this is a very much work-in-progress demo. What I've got working, however, is a pretty neat (if I do say so myself...) smooth collision detection system going. The engine reads tiles ID's based on your position at 4 corners with offsets (check @collisions in source) and then sees whether you'll collide or not. Standard stuff, really, but by separately checking X and Y you can "slide" along walls if you move at them diagonally. So it plays pretty well.

There's also a basic eventing system in place (maps are drawn using SCRED, then events are added for that map in the source code) which lets you place the player and enemies on the map currently.

Oh, and you can use a sword with the A button to hit that pesky skeleton.

On the immediate todo list is 4 way tile collision check so that you can move onto collidable tiles from certain angles. But now I need to do some actual work, so that'll have to come later.

lol I'm pretty sure thee isn't porn there. I saw a Youtube video of the game, and there was a link to the QR codes. I followed the link, and all I saw was the codes.

this is the prototype for a platforming game im making :3
so far its just a bunch of animations
let me know how i did this is my first program with sprites c:
EDIT:ignore the controls theyre outdated here are the new controls
A=Jump
B=Hurt
Y=Thundershock
X=Flash
Up=Look upwards
Right=Walk
Down=Crouch
when im done the controls are gonna be different this is just to see the animations

QR codes in the video description. Next step is to make Zelda-like "sliding" of the screen when you go to the edge and the next area. Doing it that way also means it's easier for me to use more overlays and such due to the 99 sprite limit

Oooooh thanks! I'll view 'em when I can. At the moment, I'm on vacation, so I don't have much of a phone signal, and....errr....I kinda bought FE:A recently...I'll check th sprites tomorrow for evaluation.

@Zack56144 Thank you so much! You're in the credits, you know. Just for being so awesome lol. I also reduced the number of QR codes (using PTC utilities) so it's not so ridiculous, but I still provide the ridiculous 80 qr code sheet in case you need it.

I'm going to make a small update sometime soon that will change fishing a bit. I don't like the current spawn rate or rarities, so I'm making fish spawn faster and making rare fish more common.
