if nintendo had a app for your DSi that played movies off your SD card would you enjoy it? with playback and a menu to select the movie you want to watch on your DSi and great for a episode of the office or a nice movie on the airplane? you would enjoy it. and more people would buy the DSi for that and other stuff!

i'd prefer just watching TV shows stored on the SD card on the DSi, but yes it would be a good idea

but in Japan the Wii no Ma channel does something similar

thats what im saying all your movies are stored on your sd card and the dsi reads your sd card then you select the movie you want to play

yes i have and thats more like watching little shows like mario bros. its not like what im talking about that is just useless what im talking about is alot better and like a ipod with a SD card sorta

i don't have an iphone, and i have both the DSi and DS Lite

well what would you watch? if you are on like a road trip or a plane?

maybe some old shows like the Transformers or Mythbusters

burning DVD's to the SD card would be nice, then we wouldn't have to buy any movies or shows if they had a film/show download store for DSi

yea downloading movies from the DSi shop right on to the SD card would be nice

Definitely! I have Guyver, Look Around You, and Mr. Men episodes (and a few random videos) that I would SO want to watch on my DSi! (Now if only I can have some Nanny 911...)

hey everybody tell me what you would watch if this app did come out?

There actually is a movie player for the DS that just game out.
It's called the DS IPlayer. However it's unofficial since it can load homebrew games, at which point, I'm sure someone will let it play pirated games.
But it lets you watch formats such as AVI off a micro SD card without having to convert it to anything like DGP.

I'm probably going to get it because Nintendo themselves will not provide me with a video player themselves. So it's Nintendo's fault. But I won't do anything illegal. I just want to watch Futurama instead of work. lol

The problem is that it will use up the battery much faster.

nah play a DS game for 2 hours with graphics better than N64 that puts you with 1 bar down. with a movie player it works with about 2 or 3 movies than it needs to be recharged so with a graphics card like a n64 but alot better like the ps2 it will only use up aboout 2 or 3 bars of battery life.

That would be a great idea if you could play them straight off without having to convert them to some shitty format like AAC. for Nintendo Sound or SMV. for my Mp3 player.
