Topic: i hope NINTY will make this app for the DSi..

i wish they would make an app..where you can take pictures of animals and leaves and the DSi's Camera automatically identifies it ^_
great for field trips and homework ^_

I think they could do sth like that, in a limited way though...!

that sounds like it'd be pretty awesome, but (a) it would have to be a clear enough picture for the plant/animal to stand out (no moving, lol) and (b) the plant/animal would have to be in front of a high-contrast background and in good lighting. i can see there being problems, especially with the quality of the DSi's cameras, and this turning out to be a very limited-use app.

If Nintendo put alot of effort into it, it could happen.

I think it would need to use the wireless communications to send the photo off to a team of experts, rather than having a built-in database, as the camera finds it hard enough differentiating between my face and a microwave when I'm playing WarioWare Snapped!, so for it to distinguish between genuses is a bit of a stretch, I reckon.
