Topic: Flipper Has Potential

Read the press release from Nintendo Life here.
Hugo Smits's voxel engine looks great, and he revealed to me that he's aiming for a mere 200 point price tag for the promising indie DSiWare project known as Flipper (reminds me of Mighty Flip Champs, which can only be a good thing). The destroy the environment, rebuild the environment concept the game is built upon really hasn't been done before, and the fact that this was originally going to be a full-blown DS release is...intriguing, to say the least. I can't wait to see how this turns out. Click that handy-dandy 'Post Reply' button at the bottom of this page to let your voice be heard!

I liked the look of Flipper the moment Hugo sent us some shots of it. I'm personally looking forward to playing the game and I like his enthusiasm for his game. It's definitely jumped up on my DSiWare watch list. I hope he keeps us in the loop as it progresses. Seems like a real nice guy to boot.

Ditto, except he didn't send me any exclusive screenshots. I think the main thing (you said) is Hugo seems totally into Flipper and DSiWare gave him a second chance to get it out there after his publisher went bankrupt. The fact that he's that dedicated to his project says something (great) about it. ...Though I should probably wait for some more details before trying to get everyone hyped.

I live in NA so I can't complain. I hope you guys get to experience all three games as soon as possible!

It's made by Goodbye Galaxy Games, which the dev was kind enough to confirm as a reference to Commander Keen.

That reference alone has earned him my attention. It does look really cool, though, and the DSiWare service needs experimental titles like this.

I thought the thread title was Flubber Has Potential, at first.

That's all I have to say about this. Just thought you should know.

Oh, I just followed the link in the first post and now know what this game is. I don't know how the game plays, but I love the art style and love the price point even more. It's beautiful.
