I'd imagine it uses a similar system to the Wii. While I suppose there might be a way to transfer downloads through HBC (or just download rom copies), there's nothing really like that for the DSi to my knowledge yet.
With tech anything is possible, but it just seems like it would be too difficult for the average bear.
