"Nintendo fans are all talk. Nintendo fans are vocal with their mouths, but when it’s time to open their wallets, they’ll spend that $60 on New Super Mario Bros instead." - Activision

Beer is not the answer. Beer is the question. YES is the answer.

Both are excellent. What kind of games do you like to play? I'd take the PSP for strategy RPGs, FPS, shoot em ups. I'd take DS for JRPGs and puzzle games. DS has more variety overall.

as a DSi owner, the only reason I have considered the eventual purchase of a PSP is the fact that it can emulate PSX games. the mess of different firmware editions and reported unhackable PSPs have given me cause for concern, though... if I buy something, i want to know for sure that i will be able to run what i want on it.

I don't think hackers and emulators are their target audience.

DSi, even the lite was better than the PSP. The PSP is mostly good for multimedia stuff. Not really for games.

i realize that, but since the only reason I wanted one was because I'd like a portable way to play all the old games I've got sitting in a CD case under an inch of dust, i figured it bore mentioning. :P

I have both and I love both because they are totally different. There are so many games that you just can't play without Touchscreen controls. And I love the PSP for the multimedia stuff and the better 3D graphics...

Probably getting a Vita with LBP soon...

@Adam
That seems to be their target audience. It seems funny that when I ask someone why they prefer the psp over ds, it always has to do with a hack. Very few ever mention the official library.
