With all the speculation of if or if not the DSiWare will see a release of some sorts of VC. If so, what is your ideas of a perfect first game to start the DSiWare off with a BANG?
My guess is of course as the title suggest...... DRILLDOZER

Being one of the most innovative and creative 2D games on the GBA with its rumble cartridge, awesome graphics and innovative gameplay mechanics using the drill bits, speeds etc. I think this would be a perfect game to kick off the DSiWare VC. Yes, it wouldn't support the rumble but it still has the sound effects to know when to shift out the drill bits and if my memory serves me correctly visual cues as well. This game still holds up well today and gamers need to play this game and see just how great this very pink in color and not a Kirby game really is and what they have missed out on. So come on Nintendo..... give us DSi owners another reason to love our new systems even more!

So wait, would you recommend I buy this one? I mean the actual cartridge; I don't have a DSi.

Yes you should definately buy this game on GBA if you can find it. I picked mine up when it released years ago and have played through it several times. Its so insanely creative and its from the creators of Pokemon. Its a game missed by so many gamers that truely just slipped right under the radar.

OK, it's $17 Aussie on eBay ATM (buy it now). I'll probably pick it up tomorrow if I lose the Fire Emblem auction. I must ask though, does the rumble still work when playing in a DS Lite?

Im sure it would because the rumble is built into the cartridge. My brother has my copy of the game so I cant check it out at the moment and that about an hour drive away. I think there is an ingame option to turn off the rumble so its not a required to play neccessity. I promise this is a game not to be missed oh and when you beat the game you still have a TON of unlockables to keep you playing for a LONG time.

I bought Drill Dozer dirt cheap (I think it was actually $9 NEW) at Target a long time ago. It is now one of my favorite GBA games, so I'm VERY glad I did! I never used the rumble mode, though, because I HATE rumble! I've always thought it was a stupid, STUPID idea and never use it in any gaming ever. So obviously, I don't care if it wouldn't support that feature on the DSi VC. It's still a flippin' awesome game!

I agree entirely. I so hope it hits VC so people can experience this awesome game. I honestly think Its another Earthbound. Barely any attention at launch and the few that played it raved about it and now its a cult hit.

Yep, it sure is another one of those. Except it's not part of a series, so we don't have to be pissed at Nintendo for not giving us the rest of them...
I wish it HAD been the start of a series, of course, but it's a great game on its own, too. I wish we lived in a world where there were no cult hits, and everything awesome sold awesome. sigh

Really and the used gaming market is really killing games like Drilldozer. I think that is why WiiWare and DSiWare are doing great with developers signing on quickly because there is no resale value.
