Topic: Brain Age Express: Arts and Letters first thoughts?

I just downloaded this game a few hours ago, and I would like to hear what you guys think of it.

Personally, I find it much less fun than the Math version. There are a few "Matching" games that can be somewhat fun, but overall there is much less thrill that I get from this game. (compared to the Math version) Most of the 'brain-traing games' either involve verbally reading (using the microphone) or doing some different word games. Also, I got age 20 on the Brain Age test on my first try! (as far as I know, there is no challenge mode in this game)

So, what are YOUR thoughts? Is it worth the 800 points? How does it compare to the math version?

I think that it is a bad deal. This is the second one, and doesnt seem near as fun as as the math. It would be better off 500 points in my opinion.

@Funky Gamer: I completely agree. Yet, I decided to download it anyway before it was reviewed here at Nintendo Life. I bet they're going to give this game a 5/10.

...and content wise it just doesn't even come close to matching up with the Math version.

I downloaded it... It's brain age. lol Not much else to say.
It doesn't stray from the original style of Brain Age, but has enough content to be worth the price..

@hardy83: I agree, however intially not much is available when you compare it to the 'Math Version'. ...and there is no 'Challenge Mode'!

But, I still think it is worth the price.

I personally found this one to be quite a bit more fun than the Math release. The Piano game alone was worth the price for me.

Plain old gamer :)

@Corbie: I haven't unlocked the 'Piano Game' yet. How do you do so, and is it fun?

Keep setting your DSi date ahead and get a stamp each day. You'll rack up presents that unlock the later games.

Ah, that's cheating... I like to play them as they were meant to be played (but you are a reviewer so I understand why you would have to, Corbie.)

Yeah, I thought of doing that Corbie, but that is just too much work for a few stamps. Besides, I'm in no rush to unlock everything.

So is this edition worth the price or should i get Real Soccer '09 or something else?

It's well worth the price. But it might take you a while to unlock some of the better games... If you haven't downloaded the 'Math Version' yet, download that one instead...

MKM... I think it depends on if you like Math or Reading/Words more... Are you left or right brained? I guess anyone could play since the game is supposed to help those who AREN'T good at said subjects. I have to admit I hate Math but loved the Math express version. I think I'd like this one, too, since I love words. )
