Interesting, that does make sense as to their rationale. There are cops in the DSi version (the ones that chase you when your "wanted" level goes too high or whatever), but I've never stared at them closely enough to notice how their lights are being handled--I'll give them a closer look next time, but you're probably right about it being just a matter of texture rather than an actual lighting event.
It is kind of strange for them to just leave the player confused about the "cop chase." I always wondered if the cop was supposed to be the lead car, ha, and that didn't make sense either for me to be taking out the cop, but I never thought that I was supposed to be working for the cops, taking out that lead offender.

I love the Cop Cars in Asphalt 4. I always ensures I get first place on the Beat Em' All levels. All I have to do is build my wanted up until you get to about three police cars on your tail, jam on your breaks and then triple Nitro straight into the back of them and voila three cars in one go. lol. As far as the Cop Chase goes I used to find them soo hard until I relised that you didnt get penalised for hit any other cars, I spent so much time trying to avoid them first time round that I alway missed out on reaching the Lead Car.

I don't personally own it but I was playing it on my friends DSi for awhile. The game is flippin' awesome. The only thing I didn't like was getting money really easily.

Yup, awesome game, the closest thing we've got to a Burnout game on the DSi, which is nice. The only thing missing in my opinion is online multiplayer. If it had that it would easily be my favorite racing game on the handheld systems instead of a close second to Mario Kart DS.
I spent 800 of my precious free 1000 points on this and have not been disappointed. Considering Gameloft is one of those companies that makes cheap rip-off games for mobile phones I was expecting it to be crap. Only problem,No single-card multi (Understandablely so) and no Wi-Fi multi. Did anyone else feel a strong influence from Burnout and NFS?
I just unlocked Hawaii the other day (Level 40 I think) still loving this game!

One of the tricks I figured out was... in Cop Chase you can just stop your car and wait (slowly) until the first car comes around again, then POW! you might need to follow it a bit and keep hitting it to the curb since you will both be going slow.

I think it's alright, but Shanghai made almost made me throw my DS out the window. C'mon! I'm 1/4 away from everyone and POOF some guy who should be slower than me zooms past and wins the freaking race!
Did we ever find out if the game has an ending and is completed?

Gameloft does nothing but rip-offs, they're just really, really good at it. I'll take a fun unoriginal title over a creative but crappy one any day.

Who else is with me?? I just love this game... the music, the controls, the races, the garage... it's like better than the other Asphalt games (which cost more money and are full on games) but this one is amazing! Who else thinks so?
It is a great game. Once you beat it though it is pretty boring.

Great game. I can see why it supposedly sold well on the iphone. Better than Race Driver: Grid imho which is meant to be the second best racer on the DS isn't it? Better than Trackmania too IMHO.
