Which art style game is the best? I have 800 points, and I would like to buy 1 art style game, and save 200 for my notebook.
With your answer, please tell me what the game IS. Like if you say, Boxlife, please add something like, you make boxes out of a set size of paper.
Thanks.

I've played Boxlife, Precipice, Pictobits, and Aquia (I think that's the name?)

Pictobits is the best imo, followed by Boxlife and then Precipice. Aquia is the worst.

Starkiller

Pcitobits is the best probably, except maybe Digidrive (which I don't have.)
It's like a fancy game of tetris, except not. The pieces fall from the sky and you have to move pieces of the same colour from the ground to the falling pieces. It's hard to explain but you'll pick it up. This game easily lasted longest for me.
BTW, avoid Aquia. It's way too simplistic.

Edit: Remember the names are different for all the regions.

Pictobits PictoPict
Aquia Aquite
Precipice KUBOS
Boxlife Hacolife

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Ugh, the usual naysaying about Aquia, which again I'm here to defend as one of the best out of the set. Aquia has easily the most atmospheric music of any of them, especially insofar as its music is completely dynamic; your movements up and down the gameplay rows create the melody, which is then augmented by looping as you create chains, and all the while your flip sounds from the shoulder buttons add percussion. This within a unique sonic framework for each level, in which you will have a new set of sounds and a buildup that is quite intense. The music also becomes more muffled as you run out of air, then breaks back in full-force when you find the air bits and save yourself. If you play it half as a rhythm game and half as a puzzle--with high quality speakers or headphones--you're in for quite an enjoyable ride.

Puzzle-wise, Aquia is very engaging, even though it will seem simplistic at first. There's a lot of quick strategy and pattern recognition involved if you're ever going to crack the higher levels, and it only gets more and more frantic as your air depletes and your playing field recedes. The end-of-level puzzle combinations you have to quickly complete are also fairly challenging and require you to think quickly before you lose the entire level by not making it within that final time limit.

Ok, now that the obligatory Aquia defense is complete, my next recommendation would be Pictobits, which I'm not going to try to describe, but if you enjoy 8-bit sprites and music, as well as some fairly frantic puzzle action, it's good clean fun.

Pictobits, then Boxlife, then Digidrive, then Base 10, in that order. Avoid Aquia like the plague; it's dreadfully boring IMO. D:
sorry, warioswoods, that game bored me to tears, and i'm still ticked i wasted the points on it thanks to glowing online reviews. no offense, dude :3

I am a huge fan of the Art Style series and own every single one (including on WiiWare). Here is what I think:

ZENGAGE: My least favorite of all Art Style games. Basically, just match overlying spheres to there rightfully colored square. you can slide this floor of squares to match them up. When everythin is matched, you win the level. Still good just not great. 7/10

AQUIA: A rather simple vertical puzzle game which you have to think quick about placing blocks into the stack before darkness overtakes your screen. Moving extra fast with no mistakes earns you chains and a higher score. It's not my favorite but It's a good game. 8/10

precipice: My next favorite Art Style game. in precipice, you mave a little character around a floor of blocks while new blocks fall from the sky. He can climb 1 block high. If his life force runs out by getting crushed by a block or by just dawdling, it's game over. Clever concept but still not amazing. 8/10

BOXLIFE: In Art Style BOXLIFE, you are presented with a sheet of paper which you are to cut and fold into cubes. It's not that easy though because there are only certain paper patterns that will get you a cube. Very frantic fun game but it's just not that next level of awesomness. 8/10

PiCTOBiTS: Here's where the cream of the crop come in. I don't really want to try and explain how this one works but you must pick up blocks from the ground (which are being constantly made by bigger falling blocks) and draw them onto the screen so they add themselves to more falling blocks which makes said block break up and fly it's segments to the appropriate place on the top screen to make a classic Nintendo 8-bit sprite. It sounds very complicated but it's easier when you actually play it. There is really great old school music and graphics as well as alot of levels and songs to unlock. A great Art Style game. 9/10

BASE 10: Now for some reason, this game is very un-appriciated it seems. This is my second favorite Art Style Game as well as one of the most full featured. the concept is simple, on a table of numbers, click the first number in a sequence adding to ten and the last number in the same sequence and all numbers in that sequence will go away. There is a level mode adding 1 new number every level, an infinite mode which just keeps going until you die, a puzzle mode with pre set tables which must be evenly destroyed to win AND it's got a 2 player mode. Yup, one of the only Art Style games with multi-player. and the multi-player is very very fun and very very addictive. A great Art Style game indeed. 9/10

DIGIDRIVE: My favorite Art Style game is also my most recent. I am not giving an in-depth look at this one. Refer to Nintendo Life's review for that. This is easily the most complicated Art Style game but once you have the hang of it, it's a total blast. This one, like BASE 10, has 2 player mode. This mode if you can find someone willing to learn the game, is emensely fun and very addictive. Easily some of the best multi-player action on DSi. A truly top of the line Art Style game. 9/10

Well, there you have it. If you want my opinion, go for PiCTOBiTS, BASE 10, or DIGIDRIVE. You really can't go wrong with any of them. If you want a more in-depth look than what I gave (and believe me, there is a few small points I didn't touch on), then refer to Nintendo Life's reviews for these great games. Hope you have fun with whatever you pick.

Read the reviews and watch the game play videos. The games are much too varied and are generally of equal caliber for you to expect any sort of consensus to be reached.

My favorite is Decode, and there are people who will hate on it as much as most do on Aquia. I wasn't hugely impressed with Aquia in comparison with the others, but I don't think it deserves the lashing it gets, and I do need to spend more time with it before shrugging it off. Decode is my go-to game though, always my first choice when it comes to some quick puzzle fun.

Anyway, point is, only you know your tastes. I wouldn't go by a thread like this to make a decision.

Zengage is the only one that I don't think anyone has really heaped praise on. It's mildly fun but not innovative in any way that I see.

Come on, friends,

Oh, somehow Decode slipped my mind when recommending, but I will second Adam regarding its greatness. It's tied with Aquia at the top of my list, although I don't always think of it when recommending, as it may not have enough universal appeal to recommend as a first game from the series.

Finally! Someone who understands how great a game BASE 10 is! I thought I was the only one. I don't have a clue why more people don't appreciate this top-notch title. Have you tried multi-player?

I need to get Base 10. I'm a lefty but Adam told me it doesn't really matter.

Bankai

By far my favourite it Kubos (Precipice in the states). It's simple, tactical, but difficult to get a good score (anyone beat my 3,700,000 odd yet? )

I really enjoy the visuals and the music - it's the kind of aesthetic that really appeals to me.

After that I enjoyed Aquite the next most, and Zengage/ Nemrem has really grown on me over time. I didn't personally think much of PicoPict, Digidrive or Boxlife.

Code is awesome though, especially in multiplayer.

I don't know anyone to play Decode multiplayer with, sadly, but I enjoy it as a singleplayer game well enough.

Irk, lefthanded is a bit difficult in that your hand covers the other screen partially. You don't manipulate that side of the screen at all though, or even use it in chains. It is only useful for seeing what's coming, so you can think of it as an inherent added challenge. The game is still playable. Of course, I'm not good with my left for fine motions, so I never bothered playing it for longer than two minutes like that. Maybe it will be too tough later on. It's ridiculous that they didn't include a simple left-hand option for you to flip the DS upside-down, but for $5 it's worth a shot.

Well that's too bad. If you ever have the oppurtunity, try it. It's loads of fun.
