What up Nintendo? Fix the ability to run games from the SD Card!!!!
Friend Code: 4511-0578-9918 Fan of: Zelda, Mario, Pac-Man, Metroid, Capt Toad, the list goes on. Love all systems: GBA, GBA SE, NES, Gameboy, 3DS, N64, Super Nintendo, etc, Atari, etc.
The problem with re-downloading is that the save data and the actual ROM are all one file to the DSi, they are deleted and transferred together. If I want to delete Bird & Beans then re-download it I have to re- unlock Bird & Beans 2.
I don't see why it wouldn't be easy to do as the DSi's menu is based on the tangled mess of IOS on the Wii.
@metakirbyknight: Man, that sucks. Good to know, though, just so that I don't accidentally delete my saved progress in AQUIA (already copied it to SD, but have played it since and would likely have just deleted it from my DSi without realizing the consequences).
@Victoria: I can gurantee you not a one of them has filled those all up. It's just like with the Wii; it MIGHT be possible to fill up the channels before you run out of memory, but only if you download nothing but the smallest files (for Wii, that'd be NES games; for DSi, it's apps and bits of WarioWare).

There's 39 channel spots and throwing apps back onto the menu from my SD card, I was able to get up to 24, and probably could go to 25, but that's using all my small size games that I don't play, which make it unrealistic since the good games from Gameloft and the Art Style games are usually pretty big (Ashphalt is over 100 blocks).
So yeah, it is odd that Nintendo would include so many channels when most people will never even get close to filling half of it before running out of space.
I think it would be funny if they just had updates to increase the DSi's system memory rather than an SD Card menu. I don't think that's possible though, I'm not a tech wizard

Technically, it's possible through compression and stuff, but Nintendo isn't that smart so their only option is for you to send in your DSi, and them to upgrade your NAND.
I was going to start a thread on this myself! I too had run out of space. I've moved Pyoro, web browser and nemrem over to my sd card to create more space. Ninty need to create that sd card patch thingy on the dsi soon please
"They say video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll."
I would complain to a Nintendo or start a petition or something but I know it will just be a complete waste of time. Nintendo does what they want to do and we will never change it. sigh...........
Wow! Maybe it's not a smart idea to download more than one calculator, or even clock? Just download games you REALLY want, because that way you guys can avoid losing up memory fast. =)
I'm good on space on my DSi, but I'm running low on my Wii. I've started using an SD card, but there's a problem with that. It's the same SD card I use for my DSi. So I can't listen to music while playing on my SD card.
Yeah, it's a half gig. Still not enough by modern standards (or Wii launch standards, honestly), but it's a LITTLE better, and the Wii finally has the SD Channel, so it's not as big a deal. There's simply no excuse for a lousy quarter gig on the DSi. You can't even buy a new SD card that small nowadays, and a 1gig goes for $10 or less!
