Hey, I recently was forced to move an item to the SD card on my DSi due to already running out of system memory. Anyone else already filled up the DSi's internal memory? I think Nintendo needs to fix this ASAP because I hate picking and choosing which games get displayed.
Me too. But I don't think that Nintendo will fix that soon.
I just can't understand why Nintendo didn't get us more memory in the first place, I just bought a 8 GB micro (!) SD card today for 14 Euros, Nintendo should get 8 GB for ~2-4 Euros.
...so u bought too many clocks and calculators eh?
Meh, I got animal crossing clock and mario clock/calculator but that isn't the main problem. Between games like Mario vs DK, Asphalt 4, American Popstar, and a few other 100 blocks or more games, It's impossible to keep a good number of blocks. I'm thinkin of buyin AC calculator and photo clock though, just for the club Nintendo coins

good idea, i put Real Soccer 09 on my SD card already, but it wasn't because i needed space, it was because it's a BAD game

That's too bad. But happy for me because I avoided it!
How about deleting games you don't play that often since you can re-download them for free? Or moving them to the SD-card. Just for storage, lol. I know, it's a crappy solution.
What they could do is making a DSi Menu Item "SD Card" so that you just click on that and get everything on your SD card displayed... and if you click on a photo you'll go to the DSiPhoto section, if you click on a song you'll get to the DSiSound section and if you click on a DSiWare game you'll start it. Well if you want that or something similar, then you should write an E-Mail to Nintendo!
I'm very sure Nintendo won't do that because of "security reasons". Then you could easily start a homebrew or pirated program just from your SD card.
Those who got a DSi have to suffer for all that piracy that happened in the past (and present) on DS and GBA - - Nintendo didn't do anything for years, and now they're acting like crazy (remember: Once your DSi gets lost or stolen, your DSiWare is gone as well).
Even on the Wii, the SD Menu just copies the game you're launching over to the system memory and then launches it there, so it's really just a shortcut for going through the process of copying between the internal memory and the SD card yourself. Piracy does seem to be such a big concern that they don't allow direct launching of anything from external media.
I'm curious how they'll handle the issue on the DSi--it is certainly unfortunate that we have all that space on our SD card but can't really use it to keep games on our menu.
Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense. Wii FC: 8378 9716 1696 8633 || "How can mushrooms give you extra life? Get the green ones." -
You can download the games you've purchased as many times as you want, although I find it to be impractical. Once I do run out space I'm pretty sure I'll move some of the games I don't play/have completed over to my SD card.

I already ran out of space, and yes you can redownload games, or just save them to the SD card, but you can't play them from the SD card which is the stupidest decision ever with the DSi aside from starting DsiWare so horribly.
I started managing my data and I have flashbacks of Wii storage problems. I'm just REALLY not gonna bother when DSiWare anymore, unless a really good game comes out. I was going to buy everything for cheap Club Nintendo coins, but it's just not worth going through that horrible nightmare again.
It's like being a family of 6 and only having a mini fridge instead of a normal sized fridge, it's just stupid!
memory problems already, huh? why oh why didn`t nihtendo learn from the mistakes made with the wii? i`m sure the memeory storage media must be a bit cheaper now than when the wii was first snounced. so why couldn`f nintendo just load up the dsi with plenty of storage space.
Given that the Wii finally got its storage fix just BEFORE the release of the DSi (in western countries, anyway), I just don't see as Nintendo had any excuse for not giving the DSi a similar fix out the door! After being pestered for a Wii fix for so long, how could have NOT seen this coming? So...very...retarded...just like having a lousy quarter gig of internal memory in the first place. Memory is CHEAP nowadays, there's no good reason it couldn't have had at least a full gig!
I really haven't downloaded all THAT much stuff on my DSi yet. I still have 658 free blocks. But I just know it's going to become my problem eventually, and it's some people's problems now, so I say Nintendo should fix it!
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
