I always wanted to download one of these so I went on and did it...

It's actually quite fun!
I really like the castle/fortress style this chapter uses. It makes me remember FFVI somehow.

Anyone else downloaded it? How's it compared to the previous two games?

I only have the first, but I didn't find it too enjoyable. It plays fine (besides for the fact that using items is a little wonky, IMO), but darn is it repetitive (way more than it should be).

The game uses the same environment, enemy set, & boss over and over and over again. Once you play through the first area, you've seen everything the game has to offer (things just get recolored & a little tougher for each new area). Furthermore while using the map, you can't access your items, & vice versa (not having a way to have your map up at all times isn't the best design choice in a game with randomly generated dungeons).

I haven't beat it yet (due to it's extraordinary repetitive nature, I play one dungeon segment every few weeks as not to get burnt out quickly), but if it hasn't changed things up yet (just finished the 2nd segment in the 5th dungeon, where the environment is white), I doubt it's going to so throughout the rest of the game.

I know I shouldn't complain about a $1.99 game, but it is a split up retail title, so I was expecting just a little bit more variety, even within the individual chapters.

What I should ask is, are the sequels the same way?

Well, so far it would seem so, I'm still at the second abyss though, so things still fell fresh. I really liked the dungeon theme, though, I wouldn't mind it being the only one.

By the way, I noticed there's a small little symbol between your health and magic points, that's actually the map "piece" that represents the part you're in, it tells you where are the exits from that room, I have been using that instead of the map, unless I want to check the whole thing, then I usually wait until I killed all the monsters and check it.

Oh by the way, I saw some images of the retail game this dsiware comes from, and there's 4 characters in that game, so I guess that means there's still a chapter 4 to be released. I think I'll be ok with just this one though,

Hmm, I wonder if the different characters play any differently? If there's any potential reason to get more than one of these, it would be if the characters each played differently.

If not, I guess it's best just to get the one that has the theme you like the most (if the videos are any indication, the enemy set is the same in all 3 games. Except for the boss).

I really like these games all three. They take me back to the 16-bit era. Just a ton of fun to play. There is a ton of Item Collection for us who like to collect better weapons and armor. The Boss Fights could have had more Variation but overall I think all three of these are great and shouldn't be missed by peeps who love the 16-bit era and action RPG's. They are well worth 1.99 each and to me a blast to play. these games kinda slip under the radar

Still playing 3DS but will have Switch soon for multiplayer with friends. I miss you guys! Adam, Joni, Gavin and the rest of the Blue Rogues from the Phantasy Star Zero Days.

I liked the first two games, but they did in fact get repetitive. the only thing changing is the boss at the end, enemies in the levels, character (appearance only), background (one is grassland, two is cave), and i think the skills you can obtain are different.
The game is fun for a while-- i spent a month looking for a similar title that wasn't so repetitive-- but it will become repetitive quickly.
oh, and the easiest way to get items is to search every exit in the 3 or four path rooms because at least one will lead to a dead end and dead ends usually spawn with treasure near the entrance.

So what if there's no Mega Mans in Metroid?
That doesn't mean we can't have metroids in Mega Man.

Yup I do the same thing its a good way to get items. I have found that just when you think you have a handle on this game you get killed though. I kinda like that cause the game never seems like a cakewalk. I mostly have gotten killed because I fell asleep at the wheel haha. My problem is I love Bows and they don't do the best Damage. But I have fun playing with the Bows and trying to upgrade my bows. I know the game is repetitive but depending on how you play you can make it play different simply by changing weapons

I got all three of these games and managed to find the retail version in stores, I find these enjoyable games and they are charming, but if you can find the retail version you must get if you love the dsi ware, in the retail version there are more items, more story, you can play as the 3 dsi ware charaters and one extra woman and each of the charaters have 4 costumes. The game even has a co-op mode (local only), in other words its a must get if you enjoyed the dsi ware.

The DSiWare versions are okay. Thankfully its 200 points as its not worth more in terms of content. And while it won't last forever, it is fun while it lasts. I found it gets quite hard later on in the game.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Slayer

I have the first Anonymous Notes, though it's not the typical RPG that gamers usually play it's quite entertaining, I'm stuck on the third abyss, this boss is freaking hard. I have the second one too, but saddest of all... Zelda Four Swords Anniversary, R.I.P for being deleted by mistake... I thought it would be there for good and I kicked it out for space. Unfortunately it isn't the PSP with the save files. So it's gone... This game is still enjoyable, it gets difficult but I swear I have used every weapon in the game. That's how much I've played it. Boss strategies anyone?

I have nothing really to say about myself.

Yet I still never beat the first dungeon due to laziness...I should play it soon.

I have to re download the first one again.
Anyway, I'll post again when I beat the first two dungeons again.
