After Exidia, has everyone been burned so much that they'd stop impulse buying Gameloft titles?

Just curious to see who has this as I think it looks good. I'm a big fan of games like Roller Coaster Tycoon.

Looks like Gameloft is making official trailers for all their games and posting to YouTube:

Guessing they'll do the same as with Oregon Trail; quick, simple, but not addictive.

@Jdarrell- Yea it would be really nice if Gameloft games werent so easy to just run through with pretty much no challenge to them. That would give them a high replay value.
on topic- I think my niece would love this type of game, hopefully this turns out pretty good buy....

The game is shocking. I've put aboput 8 hours into it, and like Gamelofts other stuff, it's a mish mash of ideas from other games that are implemented better in those other games. In other words this is cheap, and feels cheap to play.

In this case, it's a half-baked mix of Tycoon style games and Mystery-Dungeon style Pokemon. However, the Tycoon part is unweildy (too many menus, and too much important information hidden in those menus), and the Pokemon stuff is too simple to be enjoyable.

Oh, and it's a theme park game where you don't actually get to see your customers in the theme park.

The minigames include a bejewelled clone, which is one of the weakest examples of bejewelled I've ever played, but the best part of the whole package.

In the other thread, people were silly enough to say I'm unbiased. Not true. I simply like good games, and Gameloft have had one (debatably two) good games so far, and not one single example of a game that can be considered "great" in its genre when compared to other examples.

That's not bias. That's giving a game a fair review.

@Waltzelf

You keep complaining about Gameloft, but why on earth do you still buy their games? If you don't like them, stop buying their games so we don't have to hear you saying the same things over and over again. I'm getting sick from you talk about Gameloft... xD

^ Lol.

So, Waltz, what else can you say about it beyond the whole "This has been done before" and "this feels cheap" deal.

People - I don't pay for my games and part of my job is to cover the DSi - ergo I download virtually anything on the service.

So, Waltz, what else can you say about it beyond the whole "This has been done before" and "this feels cheap" deal.

I don't know what else to say. It's like a dumbed down and simplified zoo tycoon game (and when a tycoon game makes it difficult to track expenses v income - it's tucked away in a menu, number of people in the zoo - tucked in a different menu - etc - it's a terrble tycoon game), mixed with a terrible cross between Pokemon and action RPG. Which could be cool, I'll grant, but there's virtually no variety in enemies, combat that consists of mashing a single button, with no control over character development, and boring levels.

So, as I said. It's a mess of poorly implemented good ideas. Typical Gameloft.

KnucklesSonic8

I got it earlier today. Yay for only being 500 Points. Can't wait to give it a go.

@ Waltz Elf:
So has any DSIware Gameloft release given you any type of a challenge, with the exception of Real Soccer maybe?

Some of the Gameloft games hold a reasonable challenge - The guitar hero clone, soccer, and I'm not great at racing games, so Ashphalt. Uno is also a challenging game. Zoo Frenzy isn't one of them, mind you. It's quite an easy game.

Of course, difficulty isn't the problem with this game (or anything else from Gameloft).

grumblegrumble, I see you wanted to know who was going to get the game from the US Update. Was there anything you wanted to know about the game in particular?

No, but I do think an 11 year old would have fun with it. The cheap presentation, simple gameplay and absurdly-stupid dialogue would not be such an issue for a youngun, and the cheerful nature and animals would go over well.

As a kid's game, it's pretty good, imo.

I'm enjoying it myself (no bias here). I'm sure she'll love it. If you're in NA, then get it right now.

BTW, WaltZ: How far are you? I think I may be stuck and I have no idea how to progress the storyline from where I'm at.

I'm not biased either. I give every game I play a legitimate chance, but Gameloft disappoints me every time.

I moved it to the SD card a week or so ago - I unlocked Free Park mode, or whatever it's called, and left it at that.

I am loving it, too! And I'm FAR from being 11 years old lol... Older, I mean.. Anyway, I actually love the franetic pace of this game. Awesome little mini-games and great for people (as the review says, I think) who have short attention spans or ADD. lol. Great game if u like mini-game type games, which I do. And the graphics and sounds are real cutesy and I love it.

No, I read comments on other sites and decided to give it a go... and I'm glad I did. I actually love the simplicity of this game and (yes, its a great game for the kiddos) but I'm older and like it. I love the cutesy design and the minigames. I give it 7/10.
