Well, the weekend is dang near gone now and my vacation is over, but not to fear cause tomorrow is Monday and we get this great game tomorrow AND Im stoping by my local Gamestop to pick up my copy of Legendary Starfy is I get off work in time. Hopefully so, that is if they have a extra copy cause I went in and bought a couple of games and FORGOT to preorder over the excitment that I found a copy of Blue Dragon Plus New for 20 bucks. So here is tomorrow, start of another great Nintendo week. Man I love a good Nintendo week.

I'd say it's definitely worth it from what I've just played, but these are merely first impressions. It looks like there are sixty stages for the game, including six boss stages. While the game does borrow a lot of assets from Mario vs Donkey Kong 2, some of the gameplay is different. You actually have lives now. When one of your Minis goes kaput in the regular stages you lose a live. Not sure how big of an effect the game over screen will have since you can retry the same level with five new lives.
Finishing levels, on the other hand, could get a bit tricker. In MvDK2 you simply lost points when you didn't chain your minis together. Here a timer goes up when your first mini reaches the exit. If the next one doesn't reach it in time the gate closes, you lose, and you have to restart the level.
Tested the online feature and it looks to be close to what was there before, but this time you can store up to 140 stages, yours and/or others'. Looks like Nintendo will be supplying additional stages here as well, as there are already five available from them.
Edit: Before I forget: you have much less control over the minis this time around. While you could change direction, start and stop, and make your minis jump before, now you can only start them, so there's a good bit more thinking involved. You still can manipulate some of the environment though.
AND NO DLC!!! Free, infinitely-expandable content! Unreal 3 and Little Big Planet must have taught some things to the world!! Maybe this'll inspire the Blast Works community to start making good levels/models again? I miss the way that game was when it came out....sooo much cool online content all the time, plus an actual use for WiiConnect24.

So you can freely browse levels made by others, without Friend Codes? If so, I wonder if they screen them first, as I'm sure you could draw something profane in the structure of the level.
No friend codes needed. Not sure how well you can browse the list though as there were practically no stages up, for obvious reasons. There's also a report button so it looks like users flag inappropriate stages.

Anyone notice that Nintendo included a warning about stopping the online service at any time with no prior notice?
Come on Nintendo. Work out your management issues. There's no reason why these services can't stay up for a decade or so. Or at least the life of the console.
I just purchased it and have to say it's great. Lot of content for eight bucks. I'm loving the game so far, with the level editor and online community hands-down being the best features.
Now, hold up, maybe this question has been asked several times before, but is it worth the download if you already have Mario Vs. Donkey Kong 2? Because I do have that one.
@Cheezy I admit, I was a bit skeptic about this one at first, but when my cousin bought it as an impulse buy (he owns Mario vs. DK 2, one of his favorite videogames of all time), he urged me to purchase it. I had the points, so I got it and almost instantly named it my favorite DSiWare download, even edging out MFC!, which I had previously seen unbeatable. I don't own the previous Minis, but I've played it at his house and tried the trial version, which, in my inexperience, I found hard. But the trial was a cakewalk compared to the one and a half worlds I've completed in this version thus far. The boss battles are extremely similar to those of the last game (according to my cousin), with only very minor differences. However, just when you think you've seen every boss battle before in the last one, think again... The many changes to regular gameplay include: Doors with timers that activate once one Mini enters them, frequently used pink blocks that you can arrange in many shapes, Shy Guys with spears (that means no more falling on top of one and living anymore), more powerful versions of old enemies plus some new ones, different rewards for collecting the MINIMARIO cards, a higher difficulty all around, and more. The Basement and Rooftop are once again included (they're not part of the main four worlds) and an awesome prize or two (involving the bosses) awaits completionists. Yet, none of that is the real highlight of this fantastic game; the online community takes the cake. Nintendo is planning on supplying you with new levels created by them, and the online community has been great so far. Friend codes are not required but make it easier to get levels from certain people. There are Top Rated and Lastest searches available when browsing for levels, though you can't type in the name of a particular one and find it. The actual level editor is extremely robust, with templates and items from many different "story" levels to aid you in your level creating. In closing, this is the best $8 I've spent in a long while. P.S. The only reason this might not be for you is if you didn't enjoy Mario vs. DK 2, and even then I'm sure you'd love it, if only for the sheer volume of the game. But hey, miss out on it now if you want, wait for it to be lauded by the reviews, and regret not buying it sooner.
