Will nintendo let the DSiware from your dsi roll over to the next handheld??

Nope; confirmed by Nintendo of Australia awhile back if Im not mistaken.

This question could mean two things.

1. Will you be able to transfer your DSi games to the 3DS?
2. Will Nintendo still use the same DSi shop with all of the same games already available with the 3DS?

If you mean question #1, probably not. If you mean question #2 my guess is yes.

I don't see why not. Nintendo obviously knows how to make buckets of money really quickly, so while 3DSWare (or whatever it's going to be called) is picking up steam people will be storming stores for DSi Points cards to get a few of the hundreds of games they didn't know exsisted.

There ya go...as of now, nope! That's fine with me, though. I never get rid of past systems for collectors sake so I'll still have them. Not crying over spilled milk

The bad thing is, I think we (I also keep the old systems) are the minority when people do trade their consoles/handhelds for the "next best thing".

This may not be much of an impact with the DSi -> DSi XL, but heads will roll once this same issue occurs with the DSi/XL -> 3DS.

To be fair, that article is talking about transferring games from the DSi to the DSi XL. Details on the 3DS are so scant at this point, that we really have no idea what Nintendo will do as far as this goes.

I think Nintendo might allow us to transfer our accounts(similar to the way you transfer Wi-fi settings) but I think all our saves will be kaput! I think there would be a way to figure a one time transfer through firmware though.
