Mmmm, as good as that sounds I'm not sure Nintendo would do that. HOWEVER... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6pVQiKD49M Some people decided to make their own Smash Bros. it's currently still being developed and such, but it will have some of the things you listed if it ever gets finished. Characters like Starfy, Mewtwo, Toon Link, etc.
Also, no offense, but Smash Bros for DSiWare would be VERY limited. It would have to be under 40 MB, that alone cuts down on the amount of characters, stages, and such it could have. A game card based version would be better as it could be up to about 128 MB, allowing a lot more features. Also, bugging a company to do something is pretty futile. EarthBound fans have been doing it for years and to no avail as of yet.
We have annoying fans to thank for marvel vs capcom 2. So sometimes it really does work. Keep it up Nintendo SSB fans

Hmmmm, the game looks so much better on the DS than I had originally thought...it DOES change my thoughts about having an SSB on the DS......but I still think it's a bad idea

It's illegal in the land of good taste.

that is true nintendoduffin. but they want to make as much money as they possibly can with all gaming platforms. and if a lot of people want it, a lot of people will want to buy it so they would deduce that on their own pretty easily it would seem.

i meant to write a dsi enhanced cartridge, or simply a dsi card so it can have better graphics and have a photo ability.
Smash Bros. for DS would suffer the same way Smash Bros. with the wiimote only suffers. The game was made, like Mario 64, for an analog stick.
Check out some 'Jump Ultimate Stars' videos and you'll see why there's no problem. What i'm trying to say is that, while for the consoles it might certainly have been made for analog sticks it can be unmade for the DS. Jump works, I don't see why smash will not.
