While the console versions look poorly executed, to say the least, Where the Wild Things Are DS was developed by WayForward, and has a fantastic art style. It first caught my eye in the News section of the latest Nintendo Power, where they wrote about two sentences on it, along with a tiny, but pretty, screenshot. Since then I've been searching far and wide for more details on it; I don't expect it to be Contra 4, or even Mighty Flip Champs, but I love the book and I love the movie even more, plus WayForward is pretty renowned. However, some of their other licensed titles haven't gone over so well. One did, though.

IGN pulled through for me yesterday...well, kinda. As you can see, they didn't give it their highest recommendation, but for a licensed game it seems to have turned out alright. I'm wondering if anyone has it or has played it, and if they think I should give it a go (rent it, buy it used, buy it new when it's cheaper, buy it new now, etc.). Please keep in mind I'm a Wild Things superfan and it comes with a free movie voucher. ;)

Looks like a decent platformer.

I read that review on IGN and after seeing those screenshots the Wild Things fanboy in me is seriously considering buying this game! I love the artstyle, and I kind of need a cheap little platformer (I've got far too many puzzle games).

Here's some gameplay:

Looks solid, but the music is mediocre and the sound effects are annoying.
