Topic: What's a list of DS compilation games?

I think Clubhouse games takes the cake for this. It has over 40 different card games, board games, and bar room games (like darts and pool).

There's also a series, I believe, called touchmaster, but I'm not sure how that is.

Check out Mega Man Zero Collection, since it's a compilation of four very good GBA games. $30 is a steal.

Is this game worth getting, now that is dropped in price a bit? Somebody in the review area of the game on NL, said it played better on their DSi (which I own one).

I am not sure, Kaiser. Somebody in the review section, said that it seemed to have less framerate issues and things like that when played on the DSi. It still sounds worth getting even if I have Sonic's Ultimate Collection, because I don't think that allowed the "Lock-On" feature, like this DS one does.

The DSi has more memory and a faster guts than your standard DS does, and as such the game detects and uses the extra horsepower to iron our framerate issues and other little things. The game largely was not worth $30, but down around $20 if you can get it there I'd say it would be wise. I think it was this site or another that reviewed it on an emulation standpoint vs just a crusty old writeup of 4 Sonic games (as if that hasn't been beaten to death) and the notes made it seem like a good idea as long as the largest deal to you wasn't the 2P simultaneous mode in Sonic2.

Thanks for the info, J.K., I never realized the DSi was really that much more powerful. Yeah, tomorrow my gf wants to pick up Heart Gold, so I will nab a copy of SCC if it's still $20.

Hey got some info for you more on Sonic Classic Collection. For starters read this: http://ds.kombo.com/article.php?artid=7944 This is the one I got wrong crediting elsewhere that ignores reviewing Sonic games, and instead reviews how the emulation of them work, and also goes into why it's best on DSi since it's one of those vaguely mentioned (by NOA) to come in the future (said in 2008) 'dsi enhanced' games that use the added ram and cpu of the system to boost the game w/out using the specific features (camera) of the device. It's a great read.

Also for those who care. DSi's main cpu clocks in at 166mhz which is 2.5x the speed of DS/Lite (which is 67mhz), and it like the DS has the secondary arm7 chip still at 33mhz. Also the system has 16MB of ram, 4x what the DS has. Games like Sonic use this extra boost in power to boost the games that could have issues on the standard hardware, much like old PC games that would run nice on a fast 386 PC(like DOOM) but would run smooth and speedier on the newer 486 PCs of the day.

This comes off a site that won't do roms and junk, but discusses them and emulation so I can't link it, but I will say here's some of the other dsi-enhanced titles out there and you can dig up if possible what more they do for the games. A good many of them are fairly lame, but a few are notable like Rabbids Go Home, Assassins Creed II, Avatar, Jam Sessions 2, Bejeweled Twist, and Alice in Wonderland.

@J.K.: Thanks for the link. It seems like it's not as bad people were saying, and sometimes you have to sacrifice things to make it work. It's funny I was so torn on the game, because I already own all four on my PS3 collection, as I stated earlier. The thing is though, the original Sonic games have a very pick-up-and-play type of gameplay. I just love the idea of booting up my DS and playing an act or two, instead of having to boot up my PS3.
@JumpMad: Last time I checked online and at my local Toys R Us, it was $20. That $10 price drop seems like the thing that will make me pull the trigger...can't beat $5 dollars a game.

The Sonic Classic Collection... My friend says it's crap. He says the sound effects and music are "hissy".

This is all his word though.

@Blue_Cat The Touchmaster games are all great and worth owning.

I've been playing Sonic Classic Collection a lot lately, and I never realized how great it is. A great buy for 20 bucks, even though I bought it when it was 30.
But this is coming from a HUGE Sonic fan.

I been playing it alot too, but The game still feels kinda Cheap to me. and sometimes Glitchy.
When I play Sonic 3 special stage, The 3D floor sometimes Flickers, or theres a lag when Turning.
And I'm playing it on the DSi too, but When I try to see how the game plays on the DS Fat, Sonic 3 runs Better. I know its odd.

But other then that, the Game is still fun, but it not much of a Sonic Classic Collection with out Sonic Spin Ball, or at less Soinc Drif, since theres Art for it. and Sonic CD would have been nice add-on to to this game.

I just wish Sega shown a little more love to the Best Sonic games, ever made. and what made Sega What it is today.

Really late reply but I'm getting Club House games, ordered it off amazon. You're guys opinions on it? Having Chess and Hanafuda alone is worth it for me. I can learn to play a couple new cards games.

Clubhouse Games is excellent, but you definitely need to play multiplayer. Single player doesn't really cut it. It has DS Download Play for all games so you don't need multiple carts either. I haven't played WFC for a while so I'm not sure how alive it is. In its heydays it was pretty swingin' though. This game is pure class. WFC even has colour pictochat!

There's a Clubhouse Games weekly online game club I used to play regularly with last year, if you're looking for folks to play with.

Also the Hanafuda game (Koi-Koi) is loads of fun once you understand the rules.
