Topic: WHAT IS FLIPNOTE STUDIO!?

I hear everybody say: Oh, can't wait for Flipnote Studio, and I still don't know what it is :S

So this is a simple question; What is Flipnote Studio?

Its a free app coming to dsiware where you can make animations and stuff. i think thers a trailer around here somewhere.thats about all i know about it, but hey its free

It's a program used to create animations and set them to sound... it really looks like a lot of fun. check out the Japanese upload site to see what others are already doing with the program.

The gigantic hype over it is mainly because Nintendo, in all its preview conferences and stuff for the DSi, used a demonstration of Flipnote Studio to show what DSi apps could do. Since they were featuring it so prominently, i know I thought it would be released either at launch or soon after the DSi launched... not so much, apparently. but we finally got the Summer '09 date at E3, so at least we won't be waiting 'til like next year or anything, lol.

So all the small animations made on that japanese website is made from a free app to the DSi!?!?

yes. do you see why some of us are very interested in it?

YES I CAN! It's gonna be exciting too see, I like drawing and stuff, so making my own small animations will be very outstanding, and from what I can see, the animations can be saved and put on a computer.. Nice!

you ever think that the reason it is delayed is because nintendo hasnt set up the website for it to be uploaded yet?

Hadn't seen the uploaded examples yet, that's pretty impressive (and hilarious, if you watch the Mario fireball one).

I hadn't really checked in on this one in a long time, having heard of it ages ago and then sort of forgetting about it in the meantime, but a quick read of its features has left me impatient as hell for them to go ahead and release it in the West. And free!? I never even knew that about it, and just assumed it went for 500 or 800 points.

They really should have made an effort to have this app available when the DSi launched in the US, as it could have greatly boosted the ad campaigns; they spent plenty of times focusing on the "play with your music" features and the cameras in their advertising, but having a free downloadable animation app with all these features would have generated a whole lot more buzz, if you ask me. Not that the launch was anything less than a success in terms of sales, but still...

yay!! how do you get points after using youre free ones?

You can either purchase a Nintendo Points card from your local store that sells game stuff, or you can buy them through the DSi Shop just like you can the Wii Shop with a credit card.
