Topic: What if Pokemon Grey and Grey 2 were the prequel to Black and White?

Until gen 4, all Pokémon mainline games had a 3rd game. But during the Black/White series, this didn't happen. Instead, they made Black and White 2. Sequels to the previous games that took the place of what probably would have been Pokémon Grey version. (PS. Since they ended up just making Pokémon X and Y, an Idea popped into my head. What if Pokémon Grey was the prequel to Pokémon Black/White? Imagine, you play as a trainer during the formation of Team Plasma. Your rivals are Bianca and Chren's parents, and you see characters like N as a kid. The main legendary Pokémon would be Kyrem, and the 3 weather legendaries (Thunderus, Tornadus, and Landus). In the end, you stop one of the major plots of Team Plasma, and N is crowned king like in the beginning cutscenes of Black and White. You then see flash forwards of Black and White and what happens then.

If Grey 2 was the prequel to Black/White 2, then the game would take place during the 2 year gap between Black and White 1, and Black and White 2. You would play as a separate trainer from the original, and you would fight Team Plasma like in the other games. You would stop the schemes of Team Plasma and witness the fall of Team Plasma. In the end, you would catch Keldeo, Meloetta, and Genesect, along with Kyrem. You would see characters like Chren or Bianca change into their more mature forms and they would still be your rivals. At the end, you would see flash forwards of Black and White 2.

What do you think if Grey and Grey 2 were prequels? Do you like my ideas? What would your 2 ideal prequels be?

Do you think it would be practical to make prequels? What new features could they incorporate in it?

That's a neat idea--BW remains a Pokémon game unlike any other, but without a new region or generation it almost certainly won't happen. I do hope Game Freak would acknowledge how popular BW's themes were and give them a real second game, but at least your idea would make for an interesting fan game.

Sadly, I'm too lazy to make a fan game. Perhaps they could reboot the series in a few years and add Mega Evolutions to it?

We'll have to see if Pokemon Z gets announced next year. If not, then maybe the "third version" tradition is dead?

nope, at least not this gen that the games were too short and the region felt smaller and emptier than any other Pokémon game.

When BW appeared, I was tempted to wait for the Grey version that never was. Good thing I did not.

A nice idea for a game would be for your trainer to be part of Team Plasma, and having an inside look at the organization, the relationship between N and Ghetsis, etc.
