The ds and ds lite can play gba games and region free and the dsi and dsi xl are regionlocked and canot play gba games but has a camera a dsiware shop a better menu system [in my opinion] and SLIGHTLY bigger screens. And both ds lite and dsi have pictochat and wifi but im not sure about the original ds since mine died and i havent owned one in years. If anyone wants to know the diffrences.
I still rock my lite so I can play gba games (although the wiiu now has all my gba games on vc so I'm playing less).

If you're talking Light or Dsi, the Lite wins every time. Not only is the Lite region free, but GBA support is fantastic (and don't forget the couple of Guitar Hero games that used the port as well). Now if 3ds was in the mix I'd say it'd win because of better game quality, digital offerings, and just overall functionality.

The GBA port also supports a rumble pak, which a handful of games supported (e.g. Metroid Prime Hunters and Pinball). That port is the reason to go for a DS Lite - I still use mine regularly.

Lite hands down. I am still confused as to why Nintendo replaced the GBA bc for a camera. One of Nintendo's dumbest move if you asked me. I still have a DS lite so I can play my GBA games.

Ds lite has the gba port and some games support it ( metroid prime pinball, hunters and those guitar hero games) metroid prime pinball and metroid hunters will still work in dsi but the guitar hero games will not.
Never owned a DSi XL, so DS Lite for the win! I owned my most recent version since 2009, and it still works as fine as it did then with games, charging battery and other things. Also, I can play Pokémon LeafGreen there, so there's that as well. And no region-locking, which is a blessing in my eyes.
