I've been keeping a keen eye out for it! Haven't ordered it yet but will do that soon

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

I'll probably get this when I have the money to and when there's nothing else I'm interested in.

For those of you who don't know who I am, I'm Kirby95, I just changed my username.

I ordered a copy today. I wouldn't wait too long, kirby95 - it's a game that I imagine will be hard to find once it goes out of print. That often seems to be the case for third-party games released near the end of a console's life time.

Don't you think it will be quite the opposite and this game will be easy to find at 15-20 USD (shipping included) on E Bay ?

I've been excited for this game since it's release and I'm glad it's getting positive reviews so far. I'm a big Alien fan and like the old school 2d shooter gameplay and look. I'll be picking this one up for sure.

i'm also waiting until it goes down a few bucks. i definitely want to play it but the screenshots look really repetitive and some reviewers have confirmed that. anyone here play and have some thoughts on that?

If it weren't for the Metroid Database, I don't think I would've been hyped enough for this game to purchase it. I got the game yesterday, but did not start a file until eariler today. Aliens Infestation is a very engaging game, not just in terms of gameplay, but its story as well. In terms of gameplay, I enjoy the sidescrolling shooting and exploration. Wayforward has delivered the 2D intensity and adventure akin to what Nintendo could have delivered with Metroid on the DS. The story has engaged me most in terms of the characters. While there have been some that I did not develop any connection to, others I did and their deaths have provided the game with a welcomed emotional depth. The most impactful was the marine I lost, skinny guy of the original four, to the game's third boss and who I had been when I took down the previous two.

Right now, I am down to one marine, and I believe her name is Amber. She is the female marine displayed on Infestation's boxart. This situation in the game is very familiar to me from my experiences with Metroid. I am once again, overall, playing as a lone female soldier dedicated to ruining the plans of the corrupt to harness the powers of vile creatures. While I'm not in possession of a tricked out Power Suit, I do feel that the Xenomorph threat has been more memorable overall than Metroids. It's interesting that it was through Metroid that my interest in Aliens Infestation started, and now thanks to the death system, Amber is now in a situation that I've played as Samus through across a series of games.

Just beat the game last night, and all around it is definitely amazing. As I said in a comment on this site's review of the game, Aliens Infestation comes off as the love child of Metroid Fusion, Super Metroid and the Aliens franchise. That said, it's a great game for those looking to celebrate Aliens' anniversary as well as Metroid's. I'm already on my second playthrough of the game, and have had a different emotional connection this time around as well. I've already lost the game's "Samus" for instance, where as Amber lasted to the end in my previous playthrough.

So I got this game today - have played it briefly, looks pretty good!

However, in the miniscule manual that comes with the game they point you to a web address to download the "full" manual, which doesn't seem to be working. Has anyone had any success in grabbing it?

The address is: dl.sega.com/manuals/NDS/AliensInfestation

i was actually a little disappointed with the game. it was really fun to play, but some of the shortcuts they took are lame. for instance, every soldier has the exact same sprite, even the female soldiers. it's weird to see a female character turn into a muscly dude the second you leave the save room.

i also gave up on exploring towards the end since there's not much to find, the item upgrades do next to nothing and there are so many of them that you don't even really have to hunt for them. it would have been a lot more fun if they had included a little more variety in the upgrades. that and it's short- way shorter than any metroid.

it's still a lot of fun but i don't know if it was $30 worth. if it drops to $20 or lower soon then it'd be a great deal.

Just thought I'd let people know that Sega finally sorted out the manual download. You can find the 'full' manual here:

It's not as good as I was hoping it might be, but at least it's better than the 4 page leaflet that comes with the game.

I am really looking to buy this game one day. It looks wonderful. If I buy this and later the Wii U game it could be a blast.

I brought my copy of the game in March for £7.98 brand new,and overall it's quite a fun run and gun game.
