Hi im new in this forum, but hoped to stay little longer, but for that i need a DS
And thats the problem, i want to buy one (used, cause finding new is a big problem) but on ebay there are many fakes from china, new ones for about 40 pounds (i live in the uk) so thats why i registered in this website, because maybe someone can help me to find a system which will be original Nintendo handheld.

If i can paste some links from ebay, then i will do it, and please, maybe someone who knows more about nintendo consoles, can help me with choosing the original one.
thanks

General advice: use Amazon or physical stores like GameStop. I don't know any second-hand stores on your country, but I'm assuming you have some. I get great deals from those, so you should keep an eye on them too.

Are you after any DS model in particular?

No, i never had any nintendo device (except NES long long time ago).
I want it mostly for GBA games, cause it can run them as well, and the screen is better than gba, and ds got some good games as well.

I found something like this on gamestop UK, but there no pictures, it means that the console is refurbished ? Because how can i know that is not completely scratched for example.

@clubberpl Then you want a DS Lite, yes. It's the only model other than the original that can play GBA games. About the GameStop link, that one is pre-owned, not necessarily refurbished. I'm not sure if you can still walk into the store and see the used models for yourself, but that's what I'd try to do if I were you. Ask to test them, even.

I bought a couple of DSi from Amazon in the search of a 100% functional model and I had no trouble returning the ones I didn't want. It's a bit of a hassle and more of a gamble, but it's still worth a try if that's your only choice.

EDIT: Also, depending on how much of a purist you are concerning GBA games, you might want to get separate devices. The GBA cartridge sticks out on a DS Lite and, from my understanding, there are a couple of things off when playing GBA games on the DS line. Coloration problems for the most part, although I seem to recall there were some complains about ghosting too, which I find strange.
