Prior to the DSi's release, I know Nintendo invited Platinum Club Nintendo members into certain GameStop locations for some sort of an event where DSi VC was supposedly announced. Did anyone here go to that event? If so, do you remember what they said about it?
This is a Kid Icarus Wiki I created in late October. It has developed a lot in that time, but it still has a lot of room to grow. Any help you could provide (e.g. fixing typos) would be greatly appreciated!
It's worth noting that any VC game would require an emulator which would be many times larger than the game ROM - that's why it wouldn't fit, not the ROM size itself.

People seem to forget that the DSi needs the emulators for those software.

before DSi was lunched last year there was an exclusive DSi preview for a selected platinum members from Club Nintendo, after that event the DSi VC rumor start to spread through out the net..
There's no chance to see SNES, N64, Master System, Genesis, or any console on the VC's games, because they've already ported the games to the VC and they wouldn't be up to working all the kinks out of games twice in the same generation. OK, maybe there's a chance for NES games, but if it comes along, it would probably be primarily handheld games. (I know this was the general consensis before, but I though it was worth mentioning)

maybe they wouldn't work so well, as seen with Sonic Classic Collection. I think it will be on the DS2, because supposedly, it's resolution is biggger, so maybe if it's good enough, the VC will be on that

You mean the "3DS"? I'm seriously so excited!!!! But for some reason, part of me still thinks this whole "3DS" thing is just an early April fools joke.. not sure exactly why though.... But anyways, the rest of me that isn't skeptical is freakin' excited!!!!!!

It's not a matter of actual file sizes, emulators are actually very small. The games actually won't fit on the DS's screens. Even the NES had a higher resolution than the DS.
I have a question. Couldn't nintendo release super mario bros game and watch version since it seems that they most likely won't be able to release games from nes but then again nintendo never ceases to amaze me.
There's been an anouncement that virtual handheld is coming to dsi. Its going to have Gameboy/Color and Game Gear. Its going to debut on June 14 with super mario land, legend of zelda: a link to the past, tetris and some other stuff.
