Well i've only seen a gameplay vid of the first level so I can't clarify, but i'd believe it's done for you. So of course, the Wii owners are left with the short end of the stick once again... >: (

@TwilightV: You'll need to clarify since I've bought both the DS versions and the 360 one, but not the Wii. Can you transform ...or does the game transform for you? If you do the transforming, it can be a Transformers game, if it transforms for you as in a cut scene, Transformers game it is not.

The game transforms for you. You have control of moving left or right, boosting, and shooting, but otherwise you just drive/fly to the next area where the bot u r will transform and continue shooting. There is a thread for the wii version.

Also, I already got Ramjet but not Silverbolt, so thanks!

@irken004: I didn't notice the thread about the Wii version and its currently 3 pages back. There's really nothing for me to talk about regarding the Wii version anyways since I don't own it. Anyways, back on topic, are you playing the Decepticon version, I'm playing Autobots at the moment, its nice to have Silverbolt because he can fly away when he gets in trouble, some of the enemies are just brutal. I'm currently having trouble finding one of the Golden discs in the 4th chapter and I just got past a chase sequence, good game, tough, but good, glad I listened to you.

What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.

Glad to be of help! I'm on the Decepticons version because (chronologically) it should be played first. No big deal if u start with the Autobot version though. I'm having a tough time finding some of those disks as well! So far my fave characters are Megatron and Skywarp, but I'm sure that will change once I unlock Soundwave And yeah, this can be a fairly tough game.

Here's a sweet (fanmade!) "trailer" for the DS games:

Just beat it, Autobots version, all main story levels at 100%. Now I gotta play the Bonus Missions and Arena and then I'll be ready fo the Decepticons version.

Nice trailer irken004.

Now I've completely beaten the Autobots version, I wonder if I should bother grinding all the characters to level 20 or if I should play the Decepticons version... decisions, decisions...

@irken004: Have you ever heard of Transformers Animated for the DS? ...I'm wondering if its worth hunting down, I never watched the cartoon either, is it any good for a G1/Beast Wars/WFC fan?

Well, I'd go ahead and play the Decepticons version. Once you beat that, you can grind ALL of ur characters

And about the Animated game: Don't bother. It's supposedly very clunky and awkward. Plus, the TV show it's based on was kinda meh.

sykotek

He's called Hot Shot in the game. His vehicle form is my favorite out of all the vehicle forms. His robot form looks pretty stupid when its running though, lol.

Odnetnin's link doesn't show up for me, I dunno if anyone else has that problem, I tried reposting the image twice, but it didn't seem to work. Maybe its just me, if you're curious, you can just click irken004's concept art link above his video.

Yeah my embed was working earlier; now it isn't. It was Hot "Rodimus" Shot, and his vehicle form is indeed awesome.

So irken, and anyone else who has played multiple Transformers DS games (not just different versions): how would you compare WFC to the original or RotF games? I prefer the latter to the former.

EDIT: Well, now the link seems to be working again, lol. Whatever.

Well I played the first movie's DS game (autobot version), and I can say that I DEFINITELY prefer WFC over it. One thing I do miss though was the first movie's "free-roam" gameplay. It was fun to just drive or fly around and take down an occasional enemy without worrying about anything else. WFC is still superior in my opinion, simply because of the voice acting, story, graphics, and missions are MUCH better.

Odnetnin

OK cool irken. I liked the first one a lot for a while because of the GTA-esque open world, but eventually tired of it and the terrible missions. I ended up liking RotF better and enjoyed it because of the multi-tiered and -faceted missions and upgrade system (different weapons, etc.) until it became impossibly hard. Does WFC have an upgrade system with as diverse weapons as a grenade launcher and a freeze ray? What about the difficulty?

When you level up your character enough, that transformer can unlock special abilities or upgrades. My Megatron has a special ability when he slams the ground with a small shockwave attack. All the other characters have special abilities/upgrades available, but they must be leveled up enough.

As for the difficulty, it can seem a bit difficult at first, but after a few missions you can get the hang of it. Some bosses are tough too. When I fought a certain autobot boss, he kept knocking me off the platform I was on, causing my death multiple times I eventually beat him by learning his attack patterns. Overall though, the game can seem a bit tough unless you know what you are doing.

Odnetnin

Thanks for the honest answers. I suppose there aren't exactly weapon upgrades because you play as multiple characters (you just create a generic robot in RotF). The game sounds about as hard as any hardcore action game. I think I may check it out when the price drops or I get a deal. You've been a great help, irken.

No problem. If you were a fan of the movie DS games (or even if you weren't), you'll LOVE the WFC versions

Just beat Decepticons completely, now all that is left is to swap exclusive characters and data discs between versions, play the rescue mode and grind all characters to 20, then thats it, 100% on both games.

@irken004: How far are you coming along?

I'm on the last mission in the story on Decepticons, and finished about 5 or 6 of the arena challenges. Haven't unlocked very many characters though. I want my Soundwave! >:3
