Disclaimer - I do NOT work for Game Stop, but I do know when a greal deal comes around.
Right now until the 14th of March (or when they decide to end the campaign), GameStop is offering a $30 buyback bonus on game systems if you get a new system. And they have a 50% buyback upgrade on any game (60% for Edge card holders.)

My hubby still had his DS Lite. I asked if he wanted me to do the upgrade. He said sure.

So I took the Lite, along with games that I had either beaten and didn't want to keep or just plain crap games and went to GS.

Here is the total I paid once the trade ins were done - $56.75
Usual price + California Sales tax - $185.28

No kidding. I have one more Lite that I am planning on trading to get for my son to have when he is old enough or to hold as a backup system.
(Currently he is not quite 3, but I like to plan ahead - aren't I a nice mommy )

Sorry that I sound like an informercial, but I had no intention of upgrading my hubby since he is not the DSi fanatic that I am, but I could not beat the deal.

I've been wanting to do this, but somehow I've managed to really scratch up my touchscreen. While I know that someone who knows what they're doing could fix this for about $5, I have a feeling that I would get the short end of the stick on the deal at Game Stop.

If you find yourself spiritually drifting (as I was for far too many years), remember that Jesus can and will walk across the water to reach you and bring you back to shore.

Universally true in every case. Their stick is more of a collection of pencil shavings.

It would be nice if dsi owners only had to pay that much for a upgrade when ever the “DS2” comes out
Great deal though. More cash to spend on sweet bad a$$ dsiware greatness(games)

I did about 8 games if I recll and most were not worth much until the upgrade bonus.

The DS Lie usually gets $45 to trade in. Right now it is worth $75. As long as it turns on, they should take it. Make sure to take the charger and a stylus or else you will get much less.

I traded in a load of games, my GBA, and my DS Lite, and the DSi was free--they even had to give me $13 on an Edge card!

And to think, if you would've sold each item individually on eBay, you probably would have had enough left over to buy another DSi.

Well I didn't get that good of a deal but I know what you are talking about. I had a DS Lite that I paid $50 for at a Pawn Shop and then heard of this deal. I had some extra cash and said let me see what I can do. I would have paid around $175 for a new DSi but only paid $109, which included some new stylus's as well. I would definitly suggest that anyone that wants to upgrade, now is the time to do it.

They're also having a special where if you trade in a DS Lite or a DSi you can get a DSi XL for $100.

I saw this today at my local GameStop. Very interesting deal. Isn't the DSiXL is a mere $20 more the than DSi? This makes it even more interesting. We have quite a lot of con artists on our hands, and someone should do something. Pronto!

I'm back with a shiny new 3DS, yay!
