Helloooo!

All of you that have played Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, what do you think of them?
They are quite hard to come by here in Sweden and i don't want to start looking around if they arent
worth my time!

Both of them are a little weak for Zelda games, but still better than most other games overall. Since A Link to the Past, I think there's no such thing as a "bad" Zelda game, just "less good."

The DS library is so big and high quality though that missing those two games probably won't cause much heartache. It's probably not worth the trouble of importing and paying premium. Definitely pick them up if you happen to come across them in a used game shop or something though.

Yup, they're probably the worst two Zelda games i've played (and i've played almost all).

For me, the first two on NES were the worst. It was an awkward phase where the series was trying to find its footing. I think A Link to the Past was the first solid game in the series and since then, none of them have been as clumsy as TLoZ or TAoL.

People say the games aren't that bad, I heard they just have really bad controls because they require the use of the stylus for attacking.

People just weren't good at it I assume. I actually really liked the controls, at least for the most part. Way more natural than it had any right to be.

I loved them. I preferred Phantom Hourglass, but I'd get both if I were you. they are definitely worth your time.

I really liked them, but the train and music parts in Spirit Tracks can get infuriating....

Honestly, Spirit Tracks is one of my favorite Zelda games in the franchise, and I don't understand the hate for it. Characters were solid, Soundtrack was beautiful (seriously, no other zelda game has a soundtrack as good as this), using the train to move from place to place is really fun, and upgrading the train cars was really fun and kept me coming back for a while, even after i beat the game. The controls were fine, and I don't see why people rip on the controls. I really enjoyed the control scheme because it kept the game flowing and smooth.

Spirit Tracks was the first zelda game I played, and it was a great hook into the series. I eventually tired of it after a year of playing, and sold it somewhere. Recently though, I bought another copy and it's just as great as I remember. It's not perfect, but it's hella great fun.

I hated the song portions of Spirit Tracks though. They never worked and I've never been able to advance to the tropical world due to this.

Honestly, I NEVER had that problem and passed each sage song on the first go. Lots of other people had problems with the mic-controlled music though, and even I had problems when playing in the car. I would have preferred a more manual way of controlling the flute, but for me, I think it's fine.

What system did u play it on? I used a DSI XL, and it rarely worked. Yet, Cooking Mama blowing portions worked fine.

First time playing the game, I used DSi (can't remember how that worked out for me because it's been so long, so I won't argue there). Second time playing was on a 3DS, which works great until you start playing during a car ride (in this case both DSi and 3DS mics work like crap).

I played it ay home every time. I think my biggest problem was the sliding.

The microphone segments do indeed suck, but protip: If you rub the microphone, it will work the same as blowing into it, but much more reliable for the flute segments.

Side note: You think I was kidding about the Spirit Tracks Soundtrack? Heck no, I'm dead serious.

It's amazing, I mean it.
edit: as a band geek, this soundtrack is soooo much fun to play.

I only played Spirit Tracks, and I had a lot of fun with it. Except for one puzzle solution that I had to look online, and to this day it does not make sense to me.

The train was an interesting change of pace, the controls are unique and work, and having Zelda along for the ride for most of the game is cute as well.

Phantom Hourglass is one of the few Zelda games that I do not own. Need to track it down for collection purposes. Maybe after I play WW.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

They're good, but they're also my least favorite of the handheld Zeldas, they're dungeons just aren't as cleverly as the dungeons in Link's Awakening and the Oracle duo, plus the majority of the overworlds don't have as much variety of content.
