No issues with either of these series, but I think there should have only been 1 game from Castelvania and Professor Layton represented. Let some other games shine.
Final Fantasy Tactics A2 should be on there!
Am I also the only one who liked Phantom Hourglass better than Spirit Tracks..?
No Final Fantasy Tactics A2.
No Radiant Historia.
Dragon Quest IX but no Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride (which I enjoyed ten times more, imo).
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time which was excellent... but no mention of Bowser's Inside Story which was EVEN BETTER.
Professor Layton and the Last Specter, but no Unwound Future; a truly touching Layton adventure.
Dragon Quest Rocket Slime is easily one of my favourite DS games of all time... Y U NO ON LIST!?
Of course, these were all highly subjective, except Radiant Historia; I think everyone agrees that game was insanely awesome.
But, further issues I have with the list:
Shadow Dragon made it on. The game was decent, but the story was lacking giving me a total disinterest in the characters who died, and it was way too easy to get overpowered. I blasted through the whole game with ONE Knight. He killed everything, leveled up super fast, and eventually got such high HP that nothing could actually hurt him. I still somewhat enjoyed my time with the game, but not as much as Shadow Stones for the GBA through the ambassador program. Yeah. Radiant Historia should've been on the list, not it... and why is FE:SD 15, anyway? Spirit Tracks, 999 and more are below it!? No. Just... no way.
Also, I know Tetris and Picross were great and all, but one has to go. There isn't room on a top 25 to be putting TETRIS on the list but leaving out stunning, (and even touching), games like Historia, BiS, Ghost Trick and Tactics A2. If they wanted a puzzle game, pick Meteos. It was more innovative than lolmoretetris (I know, I know; it had a few more modes. I like Tetris, don't get me wrong), and a game I played for at least a hundred hours.
3 Castlevania games. Sorry, just pick the best of a series please. We know they're good games, but I doubt they're good enough to warrant the whole dang series on the DS being in the list when, as I said before, RADIANT HISTORIA can't find a spot. O_o
Also, for those of you missing BiS: it was on the previous Top 25 DS games list before they revised it and ticked everyone off. Probably did it just to get an explosion in the comments. After all, who else has the nerve to spread a moderate length article over five pages. Five ad filledd pages. What, do they think my computer's going to explode if they make it 2? At least put a summary on a sixth page so we can just skip to that and see skim it over.
Also, not a single FF game made it on the list. Horror. D:
I pretty much think we can all agree on the fact that it will satisfy nobody here, so maybe we just should state our 10 favorites. Mine would be... uh.... uh ...uuuuh... Aaah Gods, there's too many good games on this system !
I might have to agree with Pokemon at #1 though. That's it. It deserves it.
Edit : What confuses me though. Why collectively just say Pokemon? But then give 2 or more spots to two series like Castelvania and Professor Layton? They're generally the same game, just a little different, basically like Pokemon games. IGN logic.
Eh, not really. It may be a better game than FFTA, but it's still a baby's SRPG with a laughable story and zero complexity. There are far better SRPGs on the DS, and even if there weren't, there are so many better SRPGs on other systems than it would be hardly worth mentioning. Even Pokemon Conquest would be a better pick than that.
What the list does need, is Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 1 and 2. Those are true masterpieces, and are certainly more deserving of recognition than Fire Emblem or f***ing Pokemon Conquest.
I wasn't being completely serious. That game is just a personal favorite of mine. The story was lame, but the gameplay and presentation were top notch in my opinion.
I'm still not happy that Spirit Tracks was on there instead of Phantom Hourglass, I enjoyed that game so much more.
@Emaan I liked Phantom Hourglass a little more too, if only because it felt more original (because it wasn't a sequel). A lot of people didn't like the Temple of the Ocean King and it's life sapping time limit and having to trek through it every time they went back from the start.
Also, agree with you on FFTA2. One of my favorite DS games, even if the story isn't amazing. Sucked away at least a hundred hours of my time trying to do everything I wanted.
I don't know about this list, but I do know I want a copy of all three DS Castlevania entries especially Dawn of Sorrow. I'd also like to check out 999 as well.

Currently waiting for Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon & Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
I don't really remember why at the moment, but I just did not enjoy it one bit, and was frustrated with it from beginning to end, and not because of the difficulty (it was pretty easy IIRC).
I really, really liked the game, but at the end of the day it was probably not as good as Aria. But, I don't see how it could be that frustrating though outside of the weird way you finish bosses. It's not different enough to be that frustrating and not samey enough to feel like a lazy cash-in sequel.
also screw you, I liked FFTA. It's one of the only strategy games I didn't suck at. Even if the story is as laughable as every Final Fantasy since the turn of the century (just for different reasons this time).
