by 'influential', shouldn't that mean these games have had influence on future generations of gaming? if so, we're not really at the point yet to judge which DS games have been 'the most influential of all time', i don't think.
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3

[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
TWEWY had aspects in it that were fantastic conveniences, such as the level guage, shutdown experience, and the ability to choose your own battles and retry them as many times as you like.
What's odd is how I see this hasn't caught on much with future RPGs...
I'm working on a game that's coming out soon! Cipher Trailer
Mario Kart DS - Opened up a great online experience and overall fantastic social game for a handheld.
Nintendogs - Showed off the great features of the DS (Touch Screen and microphone), as well as being the most inspirational and realistic pet simulator for the time. Many clones followed.
Trauma Center: Under the Knife - Showed that jobs in video games can be fun with great touch control (see also the Ace Attourney games and Cooking Mama)
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies - Showed how powerful Tag Mode really is with record-breaking wireless connections. Tag Mode was so impressive, that the Nintendo 3DS will have it built in, rather than just being on a single Game Card that uses it (Nintendogs and Animal Crossing: Wild World used it first, but Dragon Quest IX made it shine). The sales were huge, too.
Mario Kart DS - Amazingly full functioned Wifi play for DS. The Wii version didn't really add all that much, if you think about it. Trauma Center - Different style game that could only be done with the touch screen. LoZ: PH - Showed that a traditional game could control very well (arguably better) with just touch screen controls. Pokemon Black and White - I know it's not out yet, but video chat on a portable game is a pretty big deal. It seems to be bringing the online interactivity level to new heights.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
