What is YOUR opinion? What DS adventure, may it be a diversion based on genetically mutated blocks that plummet to the ground, or a grand adventure through sea and storm, has inspired dozens of games, whether they are hits or misses?

I believe that Tetris is a fantastic game that has spawned classics such as Dr. Mario.

Hate to tell you this, but Tetris was on the Game Boy/NES, and so was Dr. Mario.

SonicMaster

No, SonicMaster, I meant Tetris DS! And Dr. Mario on DsiWare.

Aviator

But Tetris started on the NES and Dr. Mario on the Game Boy

I know that! Tetris DS was the predecessor that set the stage for MORE DR MARIO GAMES TO COME, and TO ENSURE THAT THEY WOULD LIVE ON AND ON AND ON AND ON!

whatever you say, labrat...

@Mickeymac: Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, but then I forgot the name for an instant and typed in Dr. Mario instead. They (aviator and SonicM) don't understand.

Puzzle Leage O.O

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

Yes, JumpMad. Puzzle League is pretty cool, and it's also pretty unusual to see so many puzzle games show up on here.

I'm gonna say Nintendogs and Brain Age as some of the most influential for opening up the casual games market and Mario Kart DS for opening up Wi-Fi as a possibility.

Started with Tetris Attack JumpMad and @labrat You can say we don't understand stuff when you don't know when games came out.

Yes, yes, and another definitive yes. So far, every game mentioned is an EPIC WIN.

I'd say Nitendogs for using every DS feature well. Metriod Prime Hunters for being the first FPS for the system(I think)

Plus about a million Mario Kart Rip-offs were made.

@ soccer686: Metroid Prime Hunters was the first GOOD FPS, if none else. Mario Kart spawned....

Madagascar Kartz
MySims Racing
plus a thousand dozen more of the same type of game.

FINAL FANTASY III.

Set the stage for Square Enix to then remake FINAL FANTASY IV.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

Yeah, I guess vonseux is right. But quite a few responses have flown down the forum drain, so we'll just see where it goes here on.

There's not that much truly influential that got a start on the DS that didn't have roots elsewhere. Tetris, Puzzle League(aka Tetris Attack), and various others came from an earlier era. Unless you want to rename your header and reword your original post all this back and forward defeats the point of this thread arguing with people when facts are presented.

Phoenix Wright, CING's Trace Memory and Hotel Dusk would be a few. The problem is other stuff that could qualify really started elsewhere even when they did the influencing touch play well say like Kirby's Canvas Curse or Warioware Touched.
