Well, I can say that it is a easy platformer, but for me it is ok.

I finally finished the game last night, and now I'm playing the unlocked Pufftop world with Starly which you get when you finish the game. I still need to get a few more treasures from previous worlds and finish up beating Puff Top with Starly and apperantly there's even an extra world after that. So far it's definitly a great game, I think Matt Bozon's 8.9 score was on the money. I think it's almost deserving as a 9 but not quite. Reason being is because again, the game is ridiculously easy and offers zero challenge. Personally, i LOVE challenging games, games that are rock hard and that involve alot of skill and preceision timing. The only challenge this game has is finding some of the treasure which can be alittle tricky at times. The Bosses are complete wimpy push overs with ho-hum predictible patterns. The only boss that did offer some challenge was the final Boss's first form. He actually killed me twice suprisngly, but that's because I didn't know you could break the flying rocks, so I was trying to dodge them. And his giant thunder bolt attack hit me everytime
Anyways, I'd personally give the game a 'high' 8/10 Doesn't quite make the 9 mark imo. And that's all because of the game's ridicously easy difficulty. It's one of the easiest plarformers I've ever played, with beautiful graphics, charming and superb art direction, great sound, cute characters, awesome presentation, fun music, fantastic controls, funny dialogue, wicked abiities. I'd easily recomend it to anyone, but beware of insanely easy difficulty. Hopefully we get get another sequal, but it will most likely be coming out for the 3DS which would be amazing. But for now I'd love to check out the previous Starfy games on the GBA. But that aint happening until they release them on a collection set for the DS in english.

@WaveBoy: yes your right the game is pretty easy, but someone like me that doesn't like hard games, that onnly want to have fun a want so like so a little challenge these is a great game, I didn't find these game hard, but not too easy as you said, maybe because im not good a videogames but well, the game is pretty nice for me, im at the world 3 and have unlocked all the chest, the minigames are insanely fun and I really like these game and recommend it to everyone.

Well I've basically completed the game 100%. I've Gotten all of the treasure, unlocked all of Starfy's 'Stuff', have all of the mini games. I finished World 9 as Starly which you unlock when you beat the game. Then I beat Boss mode and unlocked World 10 which was infact challenging in spots and had some clever level design. The challenge comes in because you have to do these Time based stages under a certain amount of time to unlock the Seceret Boss Door which of course I also did hehe. And I gotta say the secret Boss was the best(although that's not saying much) boss battle in the entire game mainly because he was actually challenging and you had to be quick on your feet....or er Star fins And his special attack which I never saw coming kills you in one blow while he does his super anime-fied flashy Mega kick attack.
Hell, I actually died a few times before I actually beat him which was a big suprise considering how ape shit easy this game was. Anyways, I'm pretty sure most of you guys never played the game considering there has only been 4 or so different people posting in this tread.lol Or because this game isn't exactly new...or better yet it's too EASY.lol
Overall I'd give it an 8/10

Just got this for $15 new from Wal-Mart's clearance rack and i am loving it so far. When it was selling for $30 it was a big "wait and see" buy for me, but now I have got it half price and played it, I agree it is a very relaxing (wonderful on the eyes!) nice looking solid little platformer. I think its target audience is teenagers, but as an adult I am loving it too

If im not wrong there are more than 2 parts of these game, but they are in japanees so... you can import it, but you won;t understand them , also if you look in DS coming games, there is a Denetsu no starfy 4, looks like another legendary stafy game
Actually if you read the first page, there is a guy that says that TLS what the 5th games of the series, but the first one outside japan, maybe you can try and get the other 4.

This game is dead to me.lol Everything about it is great, but the ridiuclous pathetic baby-like difficulty basically ruined the entire experience. Oh well, I'm still pumped to see Starfy in the next SSBros!

I still need to play The Legendary Starfy. I hear it's easy, but that might not be so bad, seeing as how I suck at platformers anyways. Just so long as it has enough going on at one time, I think I'll be able to enjoy it.

The posible thing why starfy is soo easy, is because getting something like blue stones restore all you life, and there are tons of these stones, also that because almost of all the game is in the water, so there is no risk to fall, thats maybe the reason because starfy is soo easy.Anyways the real challenge is to find all chests and secret doors, ad the minigames are really fun!!
36. Posted: Wed 18th Aug 2010 03:23 BST
Yep. There are way too many blue stones, and I couldn't believe how laughably easy the bosses were. The only challenge(again) comes in finding some of the treasures. I beat the game 100% and unlocked everything, and in the end i wasn't satisfyed....I felt like i played a beautiful, creative, great sounding and solid platformer that was destroyed by it's 'Barney the Dinasaur' difficulty.
Yet If the Boss battles were actually challenging, if their were far less Blue stones and if Starfy didn't take as much hits this game could of been considered a classic. They should of made him take damage like mario, 1 to 3 hits and you're out! This game had great potential, but it's hilariously crappy difficulty ruined the experience. I can see 5-8 years olds having a great time with this one. Yet even if I were to play this game back in the Nes days, I would of shrugged it off because of it's easy difficulty. I gew up with Mega Man, SMB1-3, Punch-Out, Kid Icarus, Zelda, Ninja Gaiden ect ect. I want my games HARD or remotely challenging in the least. Sarfy has got to be one of the easiest games I've ever played in my life.
As it is, It aint' stayin in my collection!

The GBA games, especially Stafy 3, was fairly challenging. Which makes me wonder why they dumbed this one down a bit. Ah well, sometimes I like a game I can just enjoy and not have to put out much effort to beat. Of course other times I like a little BIT.TRIP RUNNER to make sure I've still got what it takes.

I really enjoyed this game, despite the easy difficulty. I would really like to check out some of the other ones, if they ever came to America. I guess that I could always import them and try to work around the language barrier.
