Hey I has just bought "The Legendary Stary" but I havne't played it yet (and will not till I end with my exams) but what do you think about it? It looks really great, in the review they give to it a 9/10 and looks like a really solid platformer.
So want to hear impression, discussions and opinions of the game

I enjoyed the game. It was a bit different than I originally thought it would be. It is a really easy game, and when I was done with it, I didn't see a need to go back and play it again. Def worth a purchase if you like easier platforming and enemies like you see in the Kirby games.

@suburban_sensei: well I don't like harder games but not too easy ones, like hmm the dificult of new super mario bros for wii is good (ok maybe a little difficult) or idk if you have played Castle of Magic, a platformer for the DSi, it was really easy, I hope these one isn't soo easy and soo short like castle of magic. I like challenging games but not too hard. Im not really good at videogames so I like easy game (but not like a piece of cake) but well when I end with my exams (in 3 days) I will play these game and give my personal opinion here.
But I think I will enjoy these game, it looks like one of the best platformers for DS.

Well maybe "easy" wasn't the right word, maybe Starfy could be classified more as a "relaxing" platformer. It was the game I played when I had gotten frustrated with a tougher game and needed to wind down with something cheery. It is definintly an interesting series with some cool content, so I am glad to see you like it.

hahahah yes, well I haven't played these yet (come on 1 more day) but it looks great, and one of the best things are like the "minigames" it have, I have watched some of them at the oficial page: http://www.starfy.com/
And some of the transformations the starfy can have looks great too, I can't wait till play these game!!!!

There are a couple tricky parts, but overall, I'd say Starfy is easier than NSMB (can't compare with Castle of Magic though, never played it). The underwater nature of the game makes it a unique platforming experience, and if you want to give yourself more difficulty, you can try to find all the chests in each level. I think "relaxing platformer" is a good description. It's just lighthearted and fun, great for unwinding after finals. I definitely found it to be a difficult to put down game, so don't cave into temptation to start it early!

I actually started playing this for the first time a few hours ago and completed the first world. So far it's great! Beautiful colorful graphics, fantastic Art direction, awesome controls, catchy tunes, unique underwater gameplay, and I'm diggin the story. My only gripe so far as that it's too easy. 'Relaxing platformer' is definitly the right choice of words. It honestly took me next to no effort to kill that giant squid every time I faced him Hopefully it gets more challenging in the second world.
Anyways, this is easily one of the most beautiful DS games I've ever come across. Starfy is awesome, and you can bet your he'll be in SSB4

If you guys like The Legendary Starfy, you should considering getting the first four; TLS was the fifth in the series, and the first to make it outside Japan.

@1upsuper: the problem is thet the first 4 are only out in japan and well...
10. Posted: Tue 15th Jun 2010 23:34 BST
...Yeah? So what? I'm only just ending my first year of Japanese, but I have imported tons of games. RPGs, mostly. Let me tell you, Platformers typically don't require a lot of reading comprehension. Just because you can't buy a game at your local Gamestop doesn't mean you have to pretend it doesn't exist.

@1upsuper: remember that many of the users here are still kids. they don't have the kind of access to purchasing things from the internet that an adult would.

I understand that. I got a little carried away; I'm sorry. Honestly, I'm a teenager myself: 16 in a few months. I was exposed to what we have missed at a young age, and since then I have been importing a lot. Please excuse my rudeness. If you ever do decide to import, the Stafis are pretty accessible.

If you have a debit card/Bank account you can buy things off eBay, not too sure about Amazon. The downside to using Debit for Online purchases is that it takes around 7-8 days to process. Yet with using a Credit Card it's done right away. Anyways, I'm totaly interested in getting the other 4 Starfy games, but I wouldn't even know what the characters are saying during the cutscenes/talking because of the Japanese text.
Nintendo should come out with a Starfy compilation game

Well I finally finished the 2nd world and it didn't really offer any challenge as well. The only challnge is finding the treasures, which isn't even really that hard either That aside, I'm in love with this game. Just imagine a new Starfy sequal for the 3DS.

Haven't played the mini games yet, but again this has to be one of the easiest games I've ever played. It's still a fantastic experience though I'm going to start World 3 in a bit, and I still need to get a few Treasure Chests in World 2.

I Honestly could care less for that stuff The Mini games however are actually pretty cool. I'm on the 5th world now, and I just can't put this game down. It's very addicting, but again for the zillionth time the game is just way too easy....I like my games challenging, and this is the complete opposite. The only challenge comes in finding some of the treasure, which can be pretty tricky at times. But ya, it's still fun, beautiful, has great music, quirky dialogue, fantastic controls, it's cute and overall is a great platformer. It's got a hint of Wario moves, like how Starfy runs and does the belly slide hehe.
But really, collecting those crystals feels pointless to me because they give you cash to buy 'Stuff' that I don't care about, and the crystals regain your health back almost instantly, when I don't even need the health because I'm rarely getting hit
