What are you talking about? The 3DS is a completely diffrent handheld, it's the SUCCESSOR to the DS series.. When will idiots know that?

What if the 3DS's success relied on you? Would you choose for it to fail or succeed?

Anyone who thinks the 3ds can be good, think again. There will hardly be anymore touch screen games and they can't come up with good games if it's all about he 3d. And if you say they won't come up with only-lame 3d games, then we should stick with the DSi. In my opinion, the 3ds is going to fail. Bad.

I dont know about the 3DS. This will probably be my first portable I will wait to get. Honestly, weve never had this tecnology before, how good could it really be?

Read a news article about the thing before whining about it not being an actual successor and instead just another iteration of the DS. It makes sense to keep the DS name, since it's sold so well and has a good reputation and brand recognition. It wouldn't be possible to make DS games 3D (at least not without TONS of work on the hardware side, I'd imagine), and Ninty would want to make people able to turn 3D off, because some people get headaches and stuff from 3D.

I don't know why people keep complaining about how ninty releases a new handheld every year. It's not like you have to upgrade, it just gives people who do want to an option. It's necessary to stay competitive in a world where ipods, cell phones, and pretty much every other portable electronic device has a newer, better model, at least every year (there have been 4 PSP models released in about 5 years too, same as DS).

Why whine about something new being released? If you don't have the money, stop being spoiled and just wait for a price drop or find some games you don't need anymore and trade them in with your DS. You don't need to have every new handheld on launch day. Especially those complaining about DSi, DSiXL and now 3DS. The only difference between the DSiXL and the DSi is larger screens. If you've been happy with your DSi before the XL came out, guess what? You don't need it. Keep enjoying it and wait for the 3DS. If you do want it, unless you got it pretty much on launch day, you knew the 3DS was coming, and you decided to buy it anyways. The XL is aimed at older gamers anyways, so there's probably not a massive overlap between the target market for the XL and new tech early adopters.

I think they are maybe being a little hasty, they are just releasing the XL here, but it may be because they want to get the tech on the market before anyone else.

The Virtual Boy didn't fail because it was 3D. It failed because it was bulky, it was expensive for the time, and the graphics were all in black and red. You could also get headaches from staring directly at pretty much anything with lights at such a close range. Personally, I don't think it will flop unless Nintendo pushes the 3D and forces other developers to utilize it even if they don't want to.

Honestly, what are you talking about? We haven't even seen it yet. I think it's safe to say 3D isn't the only thing the 3DS is going to offer.

I'm pretty excited too, though unless there's DSiWare transfer and a VC, I'll be holding off for a while. Sounds like some people here need to read the whole Nintendo announcement press release and not just the title of the system.

How many people of America are going to buy this if they JUST got a DSiXL? I love the whole new system thing but... TOO SOON!!!! (I also don't like the 3d)

I dont know which one of you guys to agree with. There are pros and cons to both.
First off, have we ever seen this kind of tecnology before? No, without glasses will be interesting.
But 3D graphics sound awesome. Games will be way more confusing and the graphics will probably be pretty crappy since its going to be on such a tiny screen. Plus with the first of its tecnology, its not gonna be perfect.
Is this going to be a double screen handheld? If no one knows, I guess were gonna find out at E3! (cant wait!)

I hope its as good as its hyped to be. The battery might have pretty good life. I know the DSi XL seems to have longer battery life then DSi.
