Topic: Super Mario 64 DS extremely annoying?

I feel like falling of ledges in this game all the time, having me to start the level over and over again. I've just got the game, and right now I'm not having good time playing it at all!

Your opinions?

I didn't care for it much either. The lack of a true analog sticks makes those N64 remakes tough. Even Rayman DS was a pain.

I freely admit to not being great at games but I could not get past the 2nd level on Super Mario 64 ds.
I traded the game out of frustration. I recently downloaded the vc version and it controls like a dream. I have got a lot further and will eventually beat it.

I suppose it depends what control method you're using, but I've never had any trouble with the thumb strap. It works a treat.

Well when i first got the game Two Months Ago i was really annoyed by the controls. (I was using the Standard Method) But i got used to the controls and I don't fall off anything much anymore.

Grumble

I beat this game on my old ds and it was a breeze. The only problem I had was with that swirly mountain stage, with all those gaps, etc. What a nightmare!!

What is the Thumb Strap?

I tossed that thumbstrap into the trash after the first time I tried it.

What does it cost? I'm not buying it, but how much is Nintendo taking for it?

The only remote thing i enjoyed about Mario 64 ds was being able to play as Yoshi. I'll have to agree with Swiket, the controls were just a tad bit awkward.I wanted the original so when it was released on VC , i sold it to get wii points.

I actually enjoyed using stylus controls for this. It takes some real getting used to, as you will easily move your pen out of the circle and keep drifting until you're on the edge of the screen and need to reset (sort of like lifting a computer mouse and resetting it), but if you use careful restraint, you can get quite good at it, and I enjoyed getting to experience the game again with a new challenge (and a good number of new locations throw about here and there).

Note: I used the stylus in my right hand and the buttons in my left hand, DS-FPS style, since I never owned a DS Phat and haven't even seen the thumbstrap before. How did it work, exactly? I'm confused based on that image. Did you use that to make it easier to use your thumb on the touchscreen?

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.

I think the controls are good, but when I first got it, I was like, "B to jump?" I got used to it, though.

It costs $30 brand new.

I rule when it comes to games. So deal with it.

Mario 64 DS is the one and only game I ever used the thumb strap for. Using just your thumb allowed you to hold the system with both hands and not have to bend the right wrist in an awkward position, for which my wrists were forever thankful. You just slide the thumb in the strap and push the end of it against the screen. Worked pretty well for this one game, but not for any other game I'd played (not that I had a huge game library before switching to the Lite.

Come on, friends,

Ditto.

Without the thumb strap, SM64DS wasn't really playable in my opinion.

I Have A tip on getting to the castle without all 150 Stars use Yoshi ^^ go to where you see the waterfall then Long Jump Across then you'll see a cliff jump while flutter kicking backwards & just do it as you land on the cliff side you'll get up there but its easy with Yoshi & same with Luigi

Never like the controls, pad or touchscreen, they're not that bad, but I just can't stand them, the game is not the same without a stick.
