So Super Mario 64 is my all time favorite game, but I never gave the DS version a try until now. I think I still prefer the original but I’m warming up to it with the different characters.
As I expected in my first couple hours in I’m coasting through it from pure memory I have on the stars.
Question. Does the game make it obvious when you should be playing as Ex: Yoshi, Luigi, Wario, etc. for a specific star or star(s)? Like is it necessary to not be Mario for any or is it solely just to be a different character for no gameplay reason at all?
I have played the N64 version many times, especially as a kid. The Wii U version is great because it's the NTSC version. I played the DS version on the original Nintendo DS and I got a 100% file. The objectives are clear, you will not have a problem with that, the controls are awful. I used the thumb pad (thimble) and that makes things easier but you have to centre your thumb too often and on top of that the thumb pad scratches the touch screen which must be the reason why no other DS system includes it. The only benefit is the extra content but it didn't make me want to play it twice.
