Sudoku (EA) was pulled from the DSiWare shop around the world. Apparently there was an exploit that allowed users to use a modified save file to play games from the SD card.
that's a bummer -- that was probably my favorite of the various Sudoku games, really.

It's certainly quick action on Nintendo's part; the usual hackers have been trying to break open the DSi for homebrew purposes since launch, and they've found that the only way to reliably do so would be to use a game from the DSi Shop and modify the save game. However, that means Nintendo can simply pull the exploited game right away (this hack is less than 2 days old) and patch the vulnerability before reposting it to the store.
It'll be hard for even the best hackers to find a reliable solution under those circumstances.

Wow, just saw a video of this after I read this thread. It's pretty weird seeing "Hello world!" appear after the EA Sudoku title screen lol. And this whole time I've been recommending EA's Sudoku to people. Ah well.
Those of us who bought it and have it backed up can still play the game, right? I enjoyed it a lot.
@HM: once you've downloaded it to your system, you've got it. idk if they'll disable it if you try to connect to the Shop, but you should be able to continue playing your downloaded copy no problem :3

You mean this one, right? http://dsiware.nintendolife.com/games/dsiware/sudoku I just downloaded it last weekend when I got a new DSi XL. It's one of my favourite games on my other DSi .. so I got it for the new machine as well.

Lol, I bet there was a spike in sales for EA Sudoku before they had to take it down.
Ha, yeah. Probably what tipped them off.
There was a total of 234 downloads when the hack was heard of until nintendo pulled it down.

I just fell like it was being implied that I was one of those trying to get this hackable, or whatever, game. I don't know how homebrew works, nor do I care. I'm just glad I was able to get a copy of the Sudoku game before it got pulled, because I quite like their version of it. It's a lot better than the first one I downloaded.

Can we hope this as another for it or are you just trollin'
Anyway, that is a big blow to Nintendo, although it appears it has strict limitations. No worry to Nintendo it appears for now, the team that did it doesn't seem to like Piracy (I researched it).
It is a shame it was pulled from the shop, its the best sudoku game I found on DSiWare.
