Okay, so I came back from Paris with my signed copy of the game (so happy ^^) and played it a lot till I reached around the halfway mark... It really is awesome, as I predicted all along ! The story and even more the dialogue is the best thing of the game as it really is well written. The gameplay, though a bit repetitive is not boring at alll, since combat isn't all that frequent, and even then, where I am now, it really starts to vary. The music is great, though probably not memorable for most of you and the Frebch snippets are fun to listen to and kinda blend in well with the dialogue.
The thing that surprised me most, other than the fact the game sometimes talks about very serious problems, is the background that has been worked on hard, and it shows : the world existed before the game and will probably exist after it (I don't know what will happen next ^^), and we can feel it.
And the sidequests are sometimes really good in their writing, even competing with the main story in terms of tone (two of them really made me feel ...not bad, but I was kinda sad after them). There is a ton of characters, and all of them have their personality that shines bright.

TheUnknownGame: Nope, it just has this one and another. There are animated cutscenes in the game, but with the game's engine.
...Oops, I think I went a little too overboard with my excitement ^^' Though I have to say one thing : You really have to get into the right mindset to enjoy it. And it is all about discovery (I pretty much think you can put yourself in the Skies of Arcadia mindset ^^)

And yup, finished it ^^ By finishing it today, a year of waiting and excitement has ended... Kinda makes me sad in a way....

Oh well, at least the ending was excellent, though I have one huuuuge problem with the game : the openings spoiled every last bit of the story, even the final boss so if I have an advice to give : NEVER look at those openings if you want at least a little surprise concerning some appearing characters or the setting. Close your eyes, and listen to the music when it's unskippable ^^

Issun: Oh, well thanks a bunch. There was so much people saying "OMG Madhouse!" that I thought there would be multiple anime cutsenes. The in-game cutsenes look fantastic though.

Just outta curiousity, is Nintendo Life gonna review this one? It's been a week since launch, and it is an easy game...

It looks good, but doesn't seem like it will sell well. I will get it when the price goes down.

@Mickeymac - I'll be reviewing this for NLife. The review copy is on the way to me at the moment, so if the post office can get themselves moving then I might be able to get started!

I think you'll probably win, I don't even have the game yet! Judging by the speed of my local post depot, I doubt my chances of getting it this weekend. I'm glad you enjoyed the game, it gives me optimism

Is this out in america or only in EU?

I noticed the US cover doesnt have the WiFi logo, and other regions do. Does that mean we dont get WiFi?

And what does WiFi mode consist of?

WiFi is only used to download weekly quests (and they should start to arrive next Friday (yay !)). So at least I'll still play the game for 3 months after it's release ^^
As far as the races are concerned...We can only play them locally, up to 4 players.

Oh Damn ! Nearly forgot to say something important and warn some people, as a few French gamers aren't too happy about the title (1 out of 30 who'd played it for a bit I'd say) : the game is text heavy ! And when I say text heavy, it isn't a small thing : around 50% of the game consists of lines of dialogue to scroll through. As a Phoenix Wright and Hotel Dusk and Golden Sun fan, it doesn't bug me in the slightest, but some people would easily be put off by this piece of info.

But the question that immediately follows needs to be answered : is the dialogue good ? YES YES AND TEN THOUSAND TIMES YES ! The dialogue is really well written and entertaining, so that's 50% of the game cool ^^ I did burst out laughing a few times, and giggled through most of it (except if it went the serious route). Some dialogue also manage to resonate : once in the game, I nearly broke in tears, because of one sidequest, it was really surprising (if you read Destructoid, I'd say, it could be included in Chad Concelmo's Memory Card section, if he played the game)...

Do I love this game ? Absolutely ! Do I regret waiting nearly a year and a half, stalking every tidbit of info ? Absolutely : I spoiled myself 70% of the main story (blame mainly the intros and communication around the title...)

And that's one of my main gripes about this game : they revealed too much about the game when communicating on it. It was kinda necessary, as, if it weren't done, people would have said "meh, it's a basic game...", even though it constantly reinvents itself...

My rant went a bit far, I shall excuse myself here ^^
