Wish they kept it. I miss the GBA slot on my ds lite, I'm actually thinking of get another one even though I have a DSi and SP. (Since I don't have the money though that's unlikely) I miss playing GBA games on a DS.
I wish they had kept it, but I only really use it when I am transferring pokemon from my Sapphire to Diamond, Platinum, or SoulSilver. Other than that, I have no real use for it.
In my honest opinion, no they shouldn't have. The handhelds need to move forward instead of backwards. The slot was gonna be done away with sooner or later

I thought it would be somewhat serious to get rid of the GBA slot, but soon after I realized that I didn't really need it anymore.
Handhelds have to move forward. Consoles can stick around for a long time (like the PS2 or the current 7th generation consoles), but as with the near 6-year old line DS line, you have to update (DS to DS Lite, DS Lite to DSi, DSi/DSi XL to 3DS), then soon enough you'll have to move along.
Then again, it didn't look so good for a GBA game pak to protrude out of a DS Lite system.
I really don't think they should have done it... Really bad idea... At least if they made an accessory which you can connect in the USB and play GBA games with it...
Having the game boy advance slot on the DS when it came out didn't seem weird to me at first but now that I think about it that was a pretty awesome addition to the system considering it was going to play a new cartridge that was going to support a new format. It's just added features, but it probably got people to buy it even more so since people still wanted the GBA even when the DS came out.
