$429.95 USD Brand new. Ive tried to track down a copy for years and havent been able too at all. Ive been scammed online as well trying to get it. At some point I WILL get it no matter what I have to pay. This game is a cult hit as big as Earthbound that I regret missing so bad. Playing the sequel will only hold me over until i get the first one.

RAAAAAGGGGGHHH Shantae is a no-go for today (((( This is quite upsetting to me... Here I was all primed and ready to download it to my DS. Wonder if they'll even say anything about this "elusive but amazing" game.....

I guess it possible that they are waiting to be able to release all 3 episodes of Shantae at the same time. Now how awesome would that be?

Do you guys not realize how much games like Pop+Solo, Flipper and other games (to name a few) were hyped up beyond belief on this site only to have a review that didn't live up to the hype? So that's the only reason I am wary of Shantae. Very few dsiware games get high praise, because of hokey game mechanics or this or that... So let's chill and wait to see what the game actually performs like.

(remembers the hype around Prehistork Man finally coming to the DSIware shop, further remembers how the when the review was finally release on NL how sad everyone was....)

Not to many games the get over hyped for a Dsiware release turn out to be bad games IMHO. Off hand I can think of a Gameloft port(or2or3) that has really let us down but other then that I think the Dsiware shop has done a o.k. job at not disapointing us Dsi owners with releases.

Well, I wouldn't say that any of those games got even close to the amount of hype that Shantae is getting. This is also the first episodic game on DSiWare, and since it is episodic, they should be able to do more with it.

Well, I finally got my hands on a copy of Shantae FINALLY, and Holy Crap is it INCREDIBLE! Though it is truely for the Hardcore Gamers, so you have been warned. ITs difficult and not in a Mega Man kinda way. Its just dang hard once you get a few hours into it. That being said, the graphics are beyond great for a GBC game and look Amazing on a GBA. The Music is some of the best in ANY game EVER, and the controls are spot on. Its a blast, an absolute blast. I literally cant wait to get to the sequels as soon as I finsh the first one.

@ Congrats on finally picking up a copy of Shataes GBC outing. Just my luck I would find one, but it would be only I candy for me as I dont own GameBoy Color.

It actually will play on your GBA with Improved graphics, as it came out late in the GBC lifecycle, they intended it to be played on GBA is my understanding, not really sure on that one, but I read that somewhere. The GBC I own a few of, but only as collector novelties, as the screen is terribly hard to see with no backlight. I think it can be played on DS though, I really do, Ill have to try it.

Well You guys gust said that shantae might be out this week this upcoming monday which will b the april 5th hope u guys are ryt and the game or gamesare realesed on that date becuase i been waiting 4eva 4 shantae 2 b released hope nintendo dosent let us down

Let me make one thing clear. If a game has a "Q" date (i.e. Q1), then its date is NOT set in stone. there is NO guarantee that the game will be released that quarter

You are right, as it actually started with a Q4 2009 Release and just missed Q1 2010 Release. Im hoping they havent dropped this into a DS Cart and not going the DSi route, cause we might wait a good while for that if they do.

Considering the fact that this game is technically 10 years in the making, I think a few more weeks can't hurt, 'm I right?

@Mickeymac: I partially agree with GenieMagic, while I'm okay with waiting, what I don't like is not knowing how long to wait. When was the last time anyone has even heard any information about Shantae? For all you know this could end up being like Duke Nukem Forever in that the company responsible for it will never be satisfied with it and continue moving it along to newer hardware as it gets announced. For all you know, now its a 3DS game. Not everyone would be happy with that. I don't mind waiting, but I don't like not knowing how long to wait. Feels like Cave Story again and as much as I love that game and its awesome, I probably would've loved it just as much a long time ago.

Hmm well the only current source of updates I regularly get about this game is the Wayforward Twitter. But even there, the latest comment is that Shantae will be displayed in Ninty's next issue, and to bear with them a little longer. But HOW LONG CAN I BEAR???? I may just go insane with all this waiting......

This won't be out until summer, or at least, that is my guess

Omg you guys with the comments i gust heard it feels like shantae is not coming out tomorrow which totally sadness me i agree with both mickeymac and zono15 mabye we wouldnt mind waiting 4 shantae but if only they could tell us how long to wait you now like give us a specific release date if i dont hear from shantae either on this month of april or may iam sooo giving up on shantae and gust moving on and letting wayforward do whatever the they want and release it when they fudgeng feel like it because they been giving us false days for shantaes release and nothing it feels like she isnt even going to be release ever ugh groans

and last x i ever heard from shantae was from nintendo magazine which was so last year i think it was there october or november issue they dont even have any info on her website geniegirl.com why even have a website of shantae if your not going to put any updates of her like hello! hope matt or wayforward reads our comments ugh!
