Yes, just WHERE is that other Skull part? It sure would be nice to find that lower skull piece!

got tired and I'm now exploring the water parts and Deserts... just got my hands on the elephant stomp, but I never seen a place to use it before... oh and found like 2-3 golden squids, the hell do I do with those?

Just check around the dungeon for other places with water, and you shouldn't have too much trouble finding it.

As for the Golden Warp Squids...I found all three before the plot brought them up, too. Don't worry, they'll become necessary after you finish dungeon three.

which dungeon? The half skull dungeon? (I seem to have explored all of it... like ALL) or some other dungeon?

Also, what are the other gifts/rewards they give for completing a few times the Ammo Tower?

If you haven't beaten the boss, you haven't explored the entire dungeon.

You can get one Magic Jam for the second run through, and just money after that.

Got it, found the lower half mask...

@TokyoRed, soo after the locked door with the mask, climb up, room with the 2 flip eyes switch on each extremities of the room with 4 skeletons, its on the right door with a certain combination of both eyes... I think its Both eye closed, you'll need to monkey jump dash, then elephant some walls, then monkey dash again, enter a door, and then use mermaid to cross some water, then use elephant on spitting fire statues, and bingo.

Seriously someone needs to make a FAQ Walkthrough of this game. It needs one. the FU¢#!NG NPCs that are suppose to help you when you dunno what to do are Incredibly USELESS...

-The fat tells me to see WRENCH so she can fix the Coffee Machine... HEY !!! I already made her fixed it and I even gave it to the zombies!
-The Weird Dazed-Out Pot smoking dude keeps saying there's gotta be something to smash rocks YEAH! IT'S THE ELEPHANT! I already got it and smashed pretty much all the friggin' Rocks I seen already!
-And the Chick with the bird keeps saying I should search HIGH AND LOW in the desert to find the Monkey Dash and Elephant Stomp... And That was when I needed to use the Forest Key, Thanks a Lot stupid I needed to go in the forest and you point me in the direction of the desert... And now that I have the Elephant Stomp and Monkey Dash, she still tells me to search for them in the desert... ARG!

SIGH
I LOVE this game but there's a whole lotta that pisses me off about it. Does not get a 10 in my book... deserves an 8/10, only 'cuz nothing points you out where you actually need to go.

@Slave: It's really not that hard...and this is coming from a habitual guide user. I advise that you do not under ANY circumstances play Shantae 1, because it's at least 100 times harder and more obtuse than Risky's Revenge.

Really? I never finished the first one... but it seemed pretty straight forward... I played a few hours on an Emulator see what the fuss about this game was all about...

One thing I hate in games, is having to go round and round and Try, like, All the possibilities to know what to do next. Yeah I am a Casual Gamer, Well I used to be an Hardcore gamer, but nowadays, I have other priorities in life so I cant just Waste away 80+ hours on a single game... it needs to be a simple pick up and play. Going round and round in a game makes me feel like I'm wasting time and I dont find it Fun at all...

I love Metroid/Castlevania games, but usually they tell me exactly at anytime Where I should Go... Yes If I want to grind and get all the secrets I'll steer clear of the path I should take, and explore... but Usually, I play a game just to beat it ('cuz I have so many other games I want to play and oh so little time to spend on games)... then if the game was incredibly Awesome, I'll replay it and try to get it 100%... But when I'm just going round and round in a game, I feel like I could be playing something else and actually Get somewhere.

I mean I really love Shantae's game... the graphics, the gameplay and attention to details is not matched even in the highest production games already out there from big companies, Wayfoward actually spent time making this game so pleasing... but when even the stupidest Helping NPCs point me in the wrong direction ... it's frustrating!

Metroid and Castlevania, they tell me on the map I should go "There"... once I get there and I dunno what to do, I'll stay there and figure it out... Shantae I get stuck some place, remember that at the begging of the game I'm told if I ever get stuck, go see the fat dude, the dazed and confused kid, and the chick with the bird for help... Cool! So now I'm stuck in a dungeon... I give up, I go see the helping NPCs and they all point me in totally bullshit directions... the hell am I suppose to do now? Search every inches of all the game until I finally stumble on the right spot? F-That! See what happened with the 4 combinations statues thing? I actually spent like 1h30 (I know 'cuz I was watching a movie on TV while doing this) I tried all 256 different combinations... TWICE 'cuz I didn't get it the first time so I thought to myself I might've been doing it too fast so I tried it again super slow... thats 512 combinations... and IT DID NOT WORKED, why? well because I didn't see the room where the code was... THEN The code was working... THAT SERIOUSLY SUCKED! :(

Anyway, Got everything now I guess... I saved right before going in Risky's Lair... will kick her tomorrow... need sleep now haha :)

Thanks for the help, Stuffgamer1, without you I would've friggin' shelved that game on my DS' SD card and just wait next week for Lufia instead.

I agree it sucks that you can't just know the code and sneak through, but they make the answer hard enough to get to that I guess they wanted to make sure everybody goes there.

I'm definitely still in the completionist mode, and I'm not afraid to explore off the beaten path to a reasonable extent. I never felt that Risky's Revenge went too far, really, and a lot of the things you've struggled with came naturally to me. Which is why I decided to volunteer my help in this thread to begin with, actually. Some of your questions have annoyed me because they seemed sooooooo obvious, but it's worth it if I really kept you from giving up on this awesome game. It's all good...as soon as you whoop Risky's butt, that is.

I bet if this game was easier to figure out they would make it 1 hit = death to give it the challenge

@Natie Are you able to go into the desert (did you get the town deed)? It's hard to remember the start of the game but I think it goes:

Get monkey --> Beat first dungeon --> Go to top left of world map (left of Shantae's house at the beginning of the game) to get town deed --> Get permit in desert --> Beat battle tower --> Get elephant in forest

Edit: Beat first dungeon = Beat the boss in the temple where you get monkey magic.

MysteriousVoice

Rah, I only need one moar magic jam to get the last upgrade, Giga bolt.
Uh, how many heart gems are in the game? I have three of them, and I think my total heart count is six.

A Mysterious Voice suddenly speaks out to you....
......Whos there?
.............................

jdarrell

You have all the heart gems then!

Most of the magic jams aren't exactly well hidden, but are usually in a place you forget to go back to.

The pike ball should be good enough to get you through the battle tower in a fast enough time, and that doesn't require any magic jams. I used the two hair power-ups. You can save a lot of time in the two pit levels by using the monkey to jump block to block (instead of using the chains).

(In battle tower there are four pots between each level. The first two give you HP or SP. The third one you duck to hit it and it gives +10 time. The fourth one you can hit while standing up and it gives +30 time.) If you're still having trouble, buy some HP and SP potions and use those instead of smashing the first two pots between each level.

By first dungeon I meant beating the boss in the dungeon that you get the monkey magic in (forest).

There's one Magic Jam in particular that I think was fairly well hidden...it's in the desert and requires Monkey Dash. It's also the last one I got. You have that one yet, MysteriousVoice?
