M&L Bowser's Inside Story got a 9.5 from Nintendo Power. I doubt Scribblenauts will do better.
Nintendo Power has overlooked the likes of N+, Lock's Quest (another 5th Cell game), and The Legendary Starfy (all 7.0s) before, so yeah, they'll probably overlook this one too. A solid 8, or an 8.5 if the reviewer is in a good mood. Seriously, NP review scores depend on their mood; that's how reliable they are.
SO! Here's what I'm gonna do: I'm going for M&L, and if they have no copies (unlikely; I'm preordering it), I get Scribblenauts. If there's no copies of that then...................... I'LL BE REALLY ANNOYED!!! Also, If I'm not done Hunger Games book 2 by then, I am toast.

So you judge Nintendo Power from 3 reviews that are accurate? I`m not sure but I believe all those games are all average.
And anyway have even took the liberty of readers their reviews? They`re very helpful and are sometimes short and to the point. I will be honest, I do hate their grading scale.
@Brandonbwii Are you sure your not mistaken Wario for Luigi? Because everyone who knows who Mario know Luigi. And Mario sells way better than will ever.

No, I do not judge Nintendo Power from three reviews. It's just that those three exemplify just how ignorant they can be sometimes. N+ is simply a FANTASTIC game, one of the best DS games I own and have played (ask pixelman for a second opinion). If you read the review, it was very mixed, stating that it's great platforming with a lot of content and such, but the price (that of a regular DS game) was too steep and it was too challenging. BAM! "Sorry N+. We need to move onto the next big Nintendo game now." Starfy is pretty great also, read NL's own review of it. And Lock's Quest I haven't played, but reviewers call it one of the best strategy games on the system. Not only does NP underrate games, but they overrate them too. Sonic and the Black Knight an 8.0?! Excusemewhat?! Gardening Mama an 8.0 too?! Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia an 8.0 (I own that one, and can vouch for its suckiness)?! And I found all of those in the reviews archive of the latest issue. They have good reviews of most first-party games (Bowser's Inside Story being a great example), but that's pretty much it. I read NP for the game coverage, not the reviews. @Odnetnin Most of the games you`ve listed, another game reviewer scored lower than NP did. Giving Sonic and the B. Knight an 8.0/10 is their Sonic fanboism kicking in They`ve done it before.
Otherwise yeah Nintendo Power does screw up a lot but their a very reliable review source. GamePro, Gameinformer, IGN, Gamespot, and even NL screw up on reviews sometimes. We`re not all perfect you know. Opinions are opinions and yes the N+ thing was pretty funny!

I think that the sales will go as so: people who go to game websites will pick up scribblenauts (since it doesnt have much coverage outside game sites) people who like mario and are NOT game informed will get M and L

As much as I appreciate Scribblenauts, it looks to be a very simple game overall. In the end I'd go with Bowsers Inside Story. Already two media outlets gave it their highest recommendations (NP and Gamedaily) and said it's the best of an already fantastic series.
I'm simply saying Wario is associated with Mario. Any obsessive kid who owns most Nintendo platforms would know who Wario is and probably teach their parents. So it's still a surprise it undersold a 3rd party game released on the same day.

Ow. I just had a serious case of déjà vu seeing MetalMario and Chrono Cross's posts right next to each other. Idk why, though. @MetalMario I knew you would. @Chrono+Cross Another reviewer scoring, Starfy for instance, lower than NP means they're acting somewhat biased imo, too. Your point about everyone screwing up once in awhile is good, though. And yeah, I didn't want to be harsh about N+, it's just that people underestimate it so often just because it looks obscure. Now you know that it's good, though, so no worries. Slightly off-topic: who's your favorite NP reviewer? Mine's probably Justin Cheng. Chris Slate can be really good or kind of annoying, but Justin is usually fair, and he's unafraid to build up a game just to tear it down sentences later.

Good thing that there are so many of those running around...

lol exactly.
I literally can't comprehend the thinking behind comparing Wario's popularity to Mario's.

You'd be surprised. If it weren't for obsessive kids, who would buy all that Imagine and Petz crap?
