Since you can use almost any noun in the dictionary, and then some, to solve puzzles, it seems rather boring IMO. If you have to get over a wall, you can use a kangaroo or spring shoes or whatever. Scribblenauts seems to be more about being silly than actually solving puzzles.

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.
Scribblenauts is alright, but the vast majority of items you can write are just copies of one another. The controls are also pretty annoying at times, since they're all touch screen and can lack precision and response. It's fun but doesn't really live up to all that pre-release hype.
If you're talking about the Idea (the write anything) It's pretty clever and innovative and definitely not boring. there are countless of words you can write. but the other aspects; controls etc. are not very good.
Ah, the good old "Too Big That It's Boring" argument. I do see your point. Most people who have played Scribblenauts suffer from the disease that involves them just writing "rope", "helicopter", and "black hole" for every puzzle. I feel that people need to wait two or three months before they're able to get over the fact that they can write a giant amount of words to fully enjoy the game.

isnt GTA about doing whatever you want instead of actually doing the missions? since when is that bad?
The main problem in this case is that the opening screen is the main place where you just do whatever. It IS possible to intentionally fail missions in amusing ways, which would probably be more fun than trying to figure out some of the more difficult puzzles. Playing the main game just isn't as much fun as it could have been due to poor controls and a very mixed bag of level designs, ranging from incredibly easy to just right to, "I know what items to use but I keep having to do the level over because of the controls." Occasionally I can't even figure out what items I could possibly use and keep trying different things, only to lose again. The basic idea of the game is fantastic, but the execution isn't what it could have been. I hope the rumored sequel gets it right, because even with the original I can see a fantastic game hiding under all the flaws.

@Moco_Loco There's no rumor about Scribblenauts 2; it was officially announced by Nintendo Power a few months ago.

Thanks for the correction. I knew I'd heard something about it on the forums, but I couldn't remember the original source.
