Since Sands of Destruction and Glory of Heracles are coming out within a week of each other, which one do you prefer and which one are you planning to buying? Also post any impressions you have after playing either of these titles.
So far Sands has a bit more personality to it, but I think I'm going to like the battle system in Heracles a bit better, just from the small amount I've used it.
I am interested in both of these games but I am probably going to pick up Glory of Heracles first. I am a bit worried though because Nintendo Power Magazine gave both of these games a 7. While that is not a terrible score, I was hoping that they would have scored a little bit higher. I'm interested to see what kind of score Nintendo Life will give these games.
The voice acting is actually not too bad. There is some overacting in places, but it's not as bad as some I've heard over the years.
And Wolf, I'll try to have the review for Sands up this weekend and Glory early next week. Maybe I'll be able to find some good chunks of free time this weekend with my wife out of town.
Sounds good Corbie. I will definitely be looking forward to those reviews.
I would have picked up Sands yesterday but with so many games coming out in such a short time frame I had to choose between Sands and Heracles. Ultimately, I decided to go with Glory of Heracles because that game has made a bigger impression on me. I will still try to pick up Sands of Destruction in a couple of weeks if I have any left over cash.
Waw i was actually planning on making a topic about those two games since they are attracting the same type of audience but i guess Corbie beats me to it oh well, anyway as for who i choose well both since Sands Of Destruction is the first 2GIG Card DS game release outside of Japan and it's looks awesome on all fronts (Visual, Gameplay and Presentation) and Glory Of Heracles as well since Nintendo is releasing something completely new to us something that will pleased both RPG fans and DS fans.
Lol I am not surprised you asked this one Corbie as this has been good discussion as of late in chat. I was saying Sands of Destruction at first, but am liking what I see from GOH. It is very possible now that I'm just going to get both. I doubt I will regret either purchase.
I haven't seen anything about Sands of Destruction since its anouncement. Glory of Heracles looks great though. If I had the money to burn, I'd go with that.

i heard the voice acting too, doesn't bother me either then again i'm the only that likes Suikoden Tierkreis 's english dub.
Currently playing DS: Contact,Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow, The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road,Atelier Annie: Alchemists of Sera Island, Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals, Custom Robo Arena
Both are very different games. Sands feels more traditional in nature and Glory feels like something of a hybrid at times. It's got a very unique battle system that takes a little getting used to. You'll get a lot of storyline at the beginning of Sands, whereas Glory just sort of tosses you mysteriously out there to find out what's going on.
I should be able to start the Sands review on Saturday and have it up Sunday or Monday. Depends on how much playing time I can squeeze in this weekend. I'd like to be into Glory by Monday night so I can get that review done as quickly as possible.

that's good to hear, because i liked Tierkreis's dub too (aside from the hero in like the first two-thirds of the game; he finally calms down and slows down in the last third, lol). :3
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3
[16:43] James: I should learn these site rules more clearly
[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!

Thanks for your quick description. Well, since I support any game that doesn't pussyfoot around at the beginning, and actually attempts to do something original, I'll probably choose Glory of Heracles over Sands of Destruction.
Although Corbie in chat also said that Sands starts off pretty fast as well. I just got Sands delivered not even an hour ago so I will post some impressions later.
