? for anyone that gets rytmik: by the way this is my key decision in buying rytmik...is there a sequence grid so i dont have to use the keyboard? if you dont know what im talking about (i may even be using the wrong terminology) here is a example of what i mean, picture this as a grid: 100000000000000000000000001001000000000000000000000001010000000000010000000000000010000000001000000000000000010010000100000000000000000001001010000000000000000000000001000000000000 ***end*** so picture the "1's" as the pitch of a particular instrument & the "0's" as empty spots with no sounds. basically you have to tap tha square & the higher on the gRid the higher the pitch.
I gotta admit, its hard trying to pass on this, I have to ask, is it easy to make a full length song? :/
i dont know about rytmik, but if its anything like my KDS+ (& its probably a lot simpler) then yes there is quite a learning curve. playing a virtual synth, or for that matter, an actual synth is much like learning to play a guitar or something (IMO) just practice will make perfect. you can start with simple drum & bass rythyms & work your way up from there. i gurantee that you will be pro after a few months...considering you spend several hours a week on it. once again i dont know rytmik im basing this on KDS10+ but i imagine rytmik is much simpler...or is it? thats the answer im waiting for.
its really too bad you cant demo it from nintendo channel. come to think of it there are no dsiw demos available there are there? speaking of nintendo channel...i have a crush on allison from nintendo week
@breegullblaster Here's a tutorial video which shows the basics. There's an advanced one in the related videos list on Youtube too. Yes, you can modify the volume, pitch and timing of each individual note in a "grid-like" manner (actually you drag the pitch slider up and down, but it's essentially the same thing).
Rytmik is designed in a manner that is generally easier to use than KORG DS-10.
@sonic_brawler95 Well the software doesn't make up for musical ineptitude. XD There are a bunch of pre-built clips that you can string together or edit in whatever fashion you like though. I've found that makes for a great start!
You can play the included songs at the site (if you want to easily hear them on your computer speakers instead of the DSi ones) http://rytmik.cinemax.cz/

I really want this because I have used the hell out of my Korg DS-10, but I'm more into rock style music. I wish I knew when the Rock Edition of Rytmik was being released. I may end up getting both... but another thing that is holding me back is the probability that I won't be able to play these games on my eventual 3DS. Nintendo really needs to step up their download game system and allow transfer between systems under the same account. Hopefully Rock Edition will come out on the 3DS.
I am a pretty decent musician. I have done some records on Wario DIY and was a regular on the gamefaqs forum. I am loving this as a musician. I am hoping to do all my mario 3 records as rytmik songs. That is all 8 overworlds in mario 3. If you want to hear my work the link below will take you to my DIY record of MM2 Title/Intro. I am planning this for mor contest entry.
I'm also tempted to hold off until the rock edition comes out, but thinking about how hard it is to reproduce the organic sound of a guitar, I wonder if it will be worth the wait. May just end up going with this one.
